Infinity Ward has finally come up with the solution to the online problems that have plagued the popular Call of Duty 4 since last week.
The online component of the game started to fall apart last week due to the sheer number of enlisted players online.
But Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward's community relation’s manager, stated that things should now be back to normal and players could resume once again to their favourite killing activities.
"You should no longer be receiving this error message or any other issues related to the firmware update in the game. Thank you to everyone for giving us the heads up on this so we could start tracking down answers, and getting it resolved and please let us know if you have any additional issues."
After the problems came to a head last week, the company announced that it was "upgrading all server hardware as well as dedicated an individual database to each functionality to improve performance and handle the traffic hitting the servers".
Problems were increased yesterday when Sony launched its PS3 firmware 2.01, which resulted in gamers complaining that the online mode of COD4 died on them ever since upgrading to the firmware.

This is good news. I've heard about the error. I didn't think that a massive amount of people could cause it tho.
About time, seriously Infinity, as if you didn't think thousands of people would be online ;) Let that be a lesson to other developers, get it right the first time. Also why does my COD4 say it can play in 1080P but on my TV changes to 720P??
falky64, google for that problem. I think there is a fix for that.
Falky - i also have a full HD TV - in order to play in 1080P u need to go to system options -> display options in your PS3 and untick any other mode except for 1080P. COD4 will play in full hd, just keep in mind to change it back while playing anything else that do not support 1080P.
Hope it helps
Good stuff, I was having much trouble, but now I'm having a lot of fun online. This is the best FPS I have ever played. Definately one of the best games of all time.
psn id: gingo... this is good infinity ward very quickly did the necessary upgrades and it is now an enjoyable experience again
"please let us know if you have any additional issues."
Yeah do you think you could come up with a better lobby system, maybe something close to resistance's,I would appreciate it
The connection problem is fixed but when i click on were it says CREATE CLASS i dont see the words i just see black bar. They need to fix this.
There not fixed, there worser than ever! Good work Infinity Ward... you`ve just lost your self a loyal COD fanboy, If it is not fixed then F**K you.
Thanx for the help guys, now playing in 1080P ;) Its a shame all games that come out dont got 1080P, COD4 for eva . . . . . . . Until GTA4 :P
