Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling has confirmed that the variety map pack for the PlayStation 3 version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has been sent to Sony for certification.
“The Variety Map Pack DLC and patch required to add the maps to the game have went to certification at Sony last night,” said Bowling, Director of Communications/Community Manager for the developer.
“We’re shooting for a worldwide simultaneous release, so all users can expect to have it at the same general time frame when it finishes certification. We’re working to see if we can secure a firm release date to pass along to you guys now, and I’ll post that as soon as I have it.”
Bowling previously stated that the map pack would arrive roughly three weeks after its Xbox 360 counterpart, pointing to a late April release.

If you bothered to read up on it Chuck you would see that it was a short term exclusivity deal with M$ to get the map packs a couple of weeks before PS3 users.

I still think it should be free to download, afterall they are only added maps for multi-player used and not for campaign. It also doesn't add anything to gameplay! No extra guns, uniforms, colors or anything! IMOO!

Meh, I'm still getting way too much lag. So what good are extra maps when for me at least the games multiplayer is unplayable.

Get off gingo n.u.t.s!! who cares whos fine with it and whos not. I think they took to damn long. They want to send it out two days before gta4( bad move). I say 95% of gamers will be playing gta4 and dont really( read it, I said REALLY) want to pay for DLC for something that late after the game has been out.
