We’re sure it’s safe to say that a lot of people were dissatisfied with Rock Bands in-box drum-kit. This is more than likely why Ion Audio has decided to create a 3rd party drum set that will not only rival the real thing, but add onto it with color-coded symbols as well.
The demo prototype of the product is being displayed on the CES show floor. Ion Audio has not released any specific date or if they’ll even finalize the development for this accessory. They have left that option in the hands of the public, as public outcry will be the deciding factor. Along with this news, there is no indication as to what the much needed accessory would retail for, but here’s to hoping it’s affordable.
If you’re hoping for a more authentic drumming experience, this is obviously something you’ll be anticipating. We’ll keep you updated in the future in regards to this story.

looks pricey, I doubt it will be less than $100...
if it looks anything like tht my got it looks really cheap!!!
So far, two games come to mind...that has some sort of defectiveness in the game or concept that have really SUCCEEDED into getting into consumers hands! Of the two music titles, between GH3 and Rock Band, GH3 has superior peripherals where as RB have had issues with their guitars...and yet they are having a better success with sales! Why is it the imperfection, as times, is the key to success?!? The mind boggles!!
PS. @ DaveW: it's great to hear you'll be taking actions responsibly. I guess you've heard the "public outcry". Thanks.
Someone in the rockband forums comments that it would probably be upwards of 200 bucks. I's assum the things can double as real drums because there's no way it'll sell otherwise.
Wow - that is quite impressive.
I agree it looks good value for $100 or even $200 but above that its not an impulse buy.
Bare in mind the fellow in the shot is wearing a navy pinstripe - four button cuffs good length so it's tailored, but too much shine for a good wool grade maybe $600 suit - pale skin I'd I say hes a Londonite but he could be from a cool climate US state like Boston. Maybe 100 pounds or US$200 is small change to him. Having said that, the carpet and surrounding decor is cheap - so he's not playing at his home... maybe an office but not a tower - in a small building: Either way he didnt pay for it! The cheap skate! Move off and give us a go!
I prefer men.
i've already spent enough on this game. The drums that came with RB are fine for me.
Yeah, the drums that came with Rock Band are surprisingly solid, but these look even sicker. However, the price most likely won't be justifiable.
lefties (such as myself) get burned again.. the color coding for the 3 cymbals would be wrong, since the snare drum position switches to the green pad for lefties. the green cymbal would then be pointless, and there would be no red cymbal. oh well.
I think that drumset is going a bit overboard, but then again I'm hopped up on Mountain Dew right now.

@ DaveW: THANK YOU. It's about time someone took some action against those non-contributors. By the way, I think FreshBoy has gone on long enough with his stupid posts about gingo and other non-relative commentaries.
Looks real good, but also looks pricey.@TheCleaner
Wow,you've got good eye mate, but let's just hope it's below $100.And DaveW i think you might need to start off with Freshboy,he has done nothing but spam EVERY single article he has posted on.
drums looks nice, more realistic, and prob more $$, but I think I will stay with my original drum set for at least 2 more years (Best Buy Warranty). Thank God.
psn id: gingo.... it seems more and more 3rd parties are making peripherals becasue the originals are just not up to scratch this could mean the start of companies hiring 3rd parties to make peripherals for their game
@DaveW..... thank you so much!!!!!!
