Owners of the PlayStation 3 version of the latest iteration in the classic fighting series, Virtua Fighter, felt shafted when it was announced that the Xbox 360 port of the title would have online functionality. However, TVG's interview with AM2 Producer Tohru Murayama at GC'07 provided a glimmer of hope for early adopters.
Murayama understood the unfortunate situation for Virtua Fighter PS3 owners:
"In the case of PlayStation 3, our first priority was to convert Virtua Fighter 5 from the arcade onto [the PS3] as soon as possible," he told the site. "To achieve that purpose we had to give up the development of the online mode -- we'd love to try if there was time and the budget but unfortunately, we had to give up on that idea. AM2 are sorry to PS3 users -- a lot of people say that it is one of the missing things from the version."
When asked if AM2 could implement a patch to solve the issue, Murayama responded, "no doubt."
It is now that the PlayStation community needs to speak up for what it wants. So start your petitions, send your e-mails and do whatever it takes (within reason) to make your desires clear.

Virtua Fighter 5 Character Trailer HD
great :O so lets do it then!
where do i sign?
sega should better find a way out
i hope an online patch for virtual tennis 3 too....
psn id: gingo.... hopefully this happens for VF5 owners because it sucked they didn't get online but with this patch this should fix the situation
I think that the fact that you can find new copies of VF5 on the shelves for 19.99 is talking loud enough. No one is going to buy that crap UNTIL there is online play. That goes for Virtua Tennis too!!
I found my way to the SEGA boards but was too lazy to sign up.
Yes, plz.....I'd love to get it online.
I've amost practically given up on that game but for people who still play it that would be great, I suggest you go bombard the official Playstation Blog and the Playstation.com forums and demand this it's the only play worth making. Someone has probably aready started a web petition but the PSU mods usualy delete the threads that refer to them so you'll have to find it on your own.
