Activision has confirmed that it has secured rock band Aerosmith exclusively for use in the company’s Guitar Hero franchise.
Speaking to Newsweek, Activision’s Tim Riley said that aside from a previous commitment to include “one or two tracks” in EA’s Rock Band, the group is now exclusive to the Guitar Hero brand.
"I can say that we do have the band exclusively, and their catalogue should be exclusive to us beyond the one or two tracks they had licensed out to Rock Band before we made our deal," said Riley.
The legendary rock group, lead by vocalist Steve Tyler, are currently set to appear in the upcoming Guitar Hero: Aerosmith on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360 and Wii in June 2008.

Rock Band will only have 1 or 2 songs?? I figure a band like Aerosmith would seek Rock Band for thier exclusive songs. I'm wondering if Steve Tyler did his homework on this or EA is giving them some major $$ for this.
psn id: gingo... i might buy this title cos Aerosmith are amazing and although there are better bands for an exclusive guitar hero game Aerosmith made really good music
Are you s.h.i.t.t.i.n.g me! I'm not a huge fan of Aerosmith never was. I'll buy the guitar hero game because I love music. But a band like this choosing guitar hero over rock band. You have got to be kidding me. I hope activision goes bankrupt for the deal they made.
