By the time they make a third game for the series the PS3 install base will be equal or far past the 360 install base.  It will only make sense to put it on PS3.  It will probably be on both.  The question will be whether or not they can find a way around m$ exclusivity to port the first two games over.

As if MS would let this one go. They have realized by now the popularity of GOW and it is very doubtful that they will sleep on that series.

My question is, how often is Pachter right when he makes these predictions?  I definitely want to see Mass Effect on PS3.  Gears of War is a cool game too, but the gaming scene is just flooded with FPS.

Pachter has actually been right on a number of things. The price drop on the PS3 for one.

By the time GOW3 comes out, they chould have the 200GB BD available. Maybe they could sell the third as a triple threat on one BD.

Well if I recall right, mass effect was an exclusive for the 360 and is also for Games For Wndows as well. Gears of War is also a Games for Windows and thinking about it, no I don't think either will actually be on the PS3. MS will make sure of that.

Patcher is a complete plank Epic DO NOT own the rights to the Gears of War Universe. Microsoft Games Studio's do, and the truth is that Epic's very own Mr Rein, I believe, confirmed this a number of months back. While Epic are contracted to finish the second part of the trilogy of an agreement for the third in the series is some way of for both companies because they BOTH want to see how successful Gears 2 is for the 360 before sitting around the negotiation table. Sarad laps everything up this muppet Patcher writes. The man isn't the messiah Sarad he's just a very naughty boy!!!! Seriously though I'm begging to wonder whether Patcher is on retainer to Sony, lol. Also Jackobinen Patcher wasn't the first to predict PS3 price cuts. However he did get the drop in price wrong as well as the month. Unlike I might add a certaqin member of Microsofts own internal team who predicted the month, the price drop AND the slimmed down 40gb PS3.

Blah, keep this shltty game MS - if there is one 360 game that comes to my box it better be Mass Effect - fvck Bioshock, FVCK GEARS (seriously over hyped) and seriously, fvck Lost Planet- why do they insist on thinking we want to play that shlt?

Gears of War will never come to the PS3. Microsoft owns that IP, just like it does the Halo IP. Developers will have no say as to which consoles GOW will come out on.  I am saddened that this actually got posted to this site.

Allright, huge possiblity for Mass Effect, all three of them to come to the PS3. But Gears? Come on, I'm sure 360 fans probably feel we're desperately crawling to take away exclusives almost as bad as they are. "OMGMGS4360!" Anyone? FFXIII/Versus XIII? Come on, shut the helI up.

Pachter is an idiot, and anyone that believes him based on his wild assertions is too. I'm sorry but all of his statements are full of "probably"s and "could"s. There's no definitive proof to ANYTHING the man is saying! Show use the 2 game contract M$ signed! Show us that they have no intention of blocking a third game! He cant because he has no proof!!!!

whats the point of having JUST the sequel be released on PS3 if they're gonna do that they should release the first 2 as well

The point is we're NOT getting it because even if Epic dide try to give it too us, it wouldnt be for another 2 years before we see it and by then it'll be old hat, an old badly ported hat which no one will be all that interested in playing because we'd be getting the story way at the end when all the real developments have already occured. and there's no point in even caring at that point. it's like watching the last 30 minutes of a movie.

The developers have GOT to know no one wants to come in at the end with no knowledge of what happened before and they'll realize it's pointsless to port to the PS3. They'll keep it on 36* and PC simple as that, M$ will dropp a few million more on them just to make sure after the second one comes out and once again the game will be exclusive.

STOP WASTING TIME ON THIS GAME. this is PLAYSTATION UNIVERSE for god's sake.

Well, i know GOW as a 360 exclusive game. If Epic sends it to the ps3 then that will be great. But to avoid having heart breaks I never expect this to happen. If this happens then i wil be very surprised. GOW is a great game but i really don't miss it on the ps3, other games are there to make me have a wonderful experience with my mighty ps3.

Epic said developing on the PS3 for UT3, was easy and went well. So why not bring Gears 2 to PS3 and mazimize profits. Also Epic if you listening alot of Sony fans would like to play Gears of War 2 on their PS3. The 360 is not worth a buy for one game, even though the one game (Gears of War) is awesome.

Honeslty I play is  xbox 360 all the time and all i Play is gears. I reserved Gow2 and will be playing that soon. If this is true I will bet getting a ps3 real soon after new 80g upgrade of course. I see ps3 finally moving ahead ad M$ and I see the ps3 more of a next gen pretty soon 360 will be outdated...
