Anthony Rose, the Head of Digital Media Technology for the BBC, has said that the company is currently looking into the process of making the iPlayer available for Sony's PlayStation 3 console.
Writing on his blog in response to the appearance of iplayerps3.com – a website that allows PS3 owners to stream the service on their console – Rose commented, “We'd love to be on every popular device tomorrow, including the PS3, and it was on our roadmap.”
"We're investigating the optimal video profile and browser proposition to enable us to officially make iPlayer available on PS3 in due course."
The BBC is currently only offering use of the iPlayer for Nintendo’s Wii console.
Stay tuned.

You are aware of the UK TV network BBC? (which we all have to pay TV licenses to which is BS if you don't watch it) Recently they set up an online service to catch-up on the weeks programmes that you may of missed. This is only available to UK residents and it requires you to download the BBC iPlayer to view the poor quality streams (well I haven't witnessed it but I have watched live Match of the Day on BBC site and it was poor) ITV have recently set up a service too with programmes that expire in 30 days or something, also that requires you to download a player I think is called Quicksilver? I don't know why they all can't use DivX web player or something?
Honestly BBCiPlayer isn't worth bothering about unless your someone who misses alot of the BBC's programmes and don't have cable to catch-up on with Cable's demand service. Its not neccassary for the BBC iPlayer to be available outside of the UK because how many of you in the US want to catch-up on this weeks BBC programmes? The good ones get broadcasted in US later on anyway.
i bet you anything that theyve only decided to do this because there is already a website with it available ;-)
I still need get it on my Wii, and see if it's worth PS3 memory space.
