Sony Computer Entertainment America’s official website has been updated with a new job listing for an “Online Gameplay Programmer”, to join the team behind the “critically acclaimed AAA titles "God of War" and "God of War II.”
This has lead to speculation that the next God of War game will feature online play, unless it happens to be a listing for a handheld or other project that we don't currently know about. Either way, it's interesting news.
God of War III will be released exclusively on the PlayStation 3 in 2009.

Please don't. A game as GOW is not meant to be played online. Good games dont need online gameplay. Why does every developer think that....

Any how it comes I am in for GoW 3. I guess online play will make the playing experience last longer than the other GoW have.

psn id: gingo.... games like this and heavenly sword are very dififcult to pull off for online so i dont see what they are going to do but i'm sure they'll have something up their sleeves
god of war don't need no online play. it's replay value is to high.

are you kidding, if its not totaly new there is no way. How can a game like this be mp? Its one main character and the gc moves are awesome and all but it works with one player.

online games are first day buys for me, so here's hoping :)
First of all, God of War 3 DOES NOT need Online gameplay. They are probably only thinking about Online gameplay in the game because more people would buy it, because as we all know, games that are just single player only usually don't sell as well as games with multiplayer. God of War is all about the Single Player, screw Online play.
How would they compliment online ito GOW. That justs hurts my head thinkin bout it.
All of you who are saying "online would suck" are retarded. You dont even know what it would be like. It obviously isnt going to be COD4 with swords.
I always thought God of War could have a decent online community. Versus battles to see who the best Kratos is, obstacle courses, series of challenges, game completion times, etc. Ever since the original, I've thought of the multiplayer aspect and I think they could work it out. I'd rather have the game next March, but I do want the last game to be the best.
Wonder how that'll work....
