Capcom has confirmed that a playable demo of the company’s upcoming Devil May Cry 4 will be released for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live in early 2008.
"Fully demonstrating the power of the next generation of consoles, the Devil May Cry 4 demo brings to life the coastal city of Fortuna and its surroundings, such as the port and snow-capped mountain ranges in exquisite detail", the firm stated.
The company said that these specific locations had been chosen to “showcase Devil May Cry 4's varied locales and allows gamers to familiarize themselves with Nero's unique abilities".
"Players will receive instruction on the various new actions that the Devil Bringer bestows, such as the ability to slam creatures to the ground, cover great distances in a single bound or even grab enemies while on the ground or in the air and pull them towards Nero to continue the attack combo."
Set between the events of the original Devil May Cry and its sequel, Devil May Cry 4 pits players in the shoes of Nero - a dexterous, highly accomplished swordsman and gunslinger.
Clashing with series protagonist Dante in the middle of a demonic invasion of the city of Fortuna, players must guide Nero on a quest for the truth as they make use of his deadly Devil Bringer arm, which gamers can utilize to string together a slew of devastating attack combos.
The full game is due out in North America and Europe next February.

Awesome!!! Can`t wait for that demo and whole game....
This game will be great, shame the cover isnt...
Thank you, I was unsure to get this, so now I will be able to test it, thanks Capcom!
psn id: gingo... it will be good to see dmc on next gen i cant even imagine what it'll be like
Demo, Demo
Can't wait to try it out, rather get a taste of the action then to brush it off like some people.
At first I didn't like this game at all because it wasn't a PS3 exclusive, but I think I'm over this immaturity. I can see how Capcom would lose exclusivity seeing as how much it costs to make the game, but still: Exclusives define a console. And since Sony has more first party developers than Nintendo and M$ combined, I can overlook this one for capcom.
Capcom is using the 3D engine they made for LostPlanet. That engine is maybe #2 in capabilities, after Uncharted's engine; but in LostPlanet the artwork just wasn't breathtaking, to show it off.
DMC1 and 3 (for PS2, not the crappy PC port) had outstanding artwork, which combined with that engine can be something quite a selling point for many people.
The gameplay will be almost the same as in DMC3, save for the addition of grabbing and throwing. The plot is questionable, but I think they'll do it right.
Thus, I see every reason DMC4 will become an even better catch than DMC3.
I don't mind losing exclusivity, as long as I know there will not be a month of not-playing while sending around a big broken rrod box :).
gingo: there are HD videos on gametrailers >_>
Outstanding!
ok were the hel.l is the demo? Its early 08 were is it . I think capcom lied.
