Electronic Arts has announced development of a new Boxing title named Facebreaker for next-generation consoles.
Due out on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii, this all-new franchise will attempt to capitalize on the casual gaming audience, and is currently in development at EA Canada.
The game will also demonstrate EA’s new Real-Time Facial Deformation Technology, and allows users to customize their characters by placing their own photos on selected combatants.
Peter Moore, President of EA Sports, commented: "Arcade boxing takes me back to my roots in this industry, and this game signals our shift to adding more approachable fun to our product lineup."
Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

i agree with you NeOne, i want a new fight night aswel to come out,
i want to be hatton against mayweather in next gen! cause we all know who the winner of that fight was!!! bring on the great british fighters
YES! This is great news... Ive been waiting for another boxing game to be annouced for the PS3 - especially after finding out "Don King presents Prizefighter" is a 360 exclusive. But still I wish they would just capitalise on their already established franchise: Fight Night.
psn id: gingo.... so this is instead of fight night? i'm actually glad because fight night was getting old plus i was crap at it so hopefully they chage the gameplay
They either dropped Fight Night off of the place of the planet or this is the new Fight Night. *shrugs*
4get ea
I hope this isn't replacing fight night. The facial deformation technology is cool n all but I hope they aren't making their boxing titles more arcadey.
i think they are replacing fight night with this, reason i believe so is that, wasnt the team responsible for the "fight-night next gen series" closed down or something due to non-profit or expense forecasts? the game is supposedly being made by EA Canada, usually that team is designated for fps or even the need for speed franchise, the "fight-night" team was based in chicago...
well ea does make really good sports games... but i'l pass on the boxing..
when will ea do a good BOND!! where multipalyer fps really was it!
Let's wait for the "EA wants to deform our faces" rants.
not really a fan of boxing games so i will pass this
