BIA: Hell's Highway 'Realism' trailerWe're just going to tell you right here, right now. It won't have in-game XMB, so stop complaining. With that out of the way, Eric Lempel has stated on the Official PlayStation Blog that Firmware 2.01 will be making it's way onto systems shortly.
He didn't go into specifics, but mentioned that the update would "improve the stability" of your PS3. To the majority of you, this update will most likely be meaningless. However, to the minority, who's systems have been crashing and burning ever since 2.00, this should fix all your issues.
More news on the upcoming firmware update soon.

Sounds great. ^___^
whats teh offical PS blog address, my links not working anymore
Nice.
It may be meaningless but when you think on one hand it is a major, nothing more important comes than stability of ps3.
Hopefully this will fix problems that people have with 2.0.
Ever since 2.0 my system randomly crashes if I'm using the web browser. Guitar Hero 3 crashes sometimes (but the music keeps on going) too. AND, most mysterious of all, my system will randomly turn on and boot into Remote Play x_x
torn a*s. used the link you said and also googled the blog.
all links just lead to "server not found"

"It won't have in-game XMB, so stop complaining"
Why would we complain less just because you tell us early? They should have implemented this from the very start. So we have the right to complain.
it'll come tuesday. they announced last week that the US update would come early next week. fixing these problems is a good reason. just goes to show sony both listens AND cares
should fix all our issues? hummm i hope :)
an update is update and thats good.
I found that my xmb would freeze for a short while due to Notification bar. Now if I turned on my PS3 it immediatly wants to connect to my router and connects and I auto sign-in and Notification bar work, everything OK. Now if my router was on but not connected to my modem, when turning on the PS3 it will connect to the router but there is no internet and the Notification bar had problems with that resulting in a xmb freeze. Turning off the bar and the problem is gone if I connect to my router but there is no internet. It still will try to sign-in so you can turn off auto sign-in and just sign-in manually when you want to.
I think the update will fix the notification bar for trying to work even if there is no internet.
^ I too did the samething and it worked. That XMB ticker is annoying with useless info. The only thing that was even worth reading was how to turn it off LOL?
my ps3 has been perfect since 2.00, same with my buddies. Is 2.0 really to blame? Or just unlucky customers had their ps3 break.
Hey....I dont mind...if I did hav something wrong wit my PS3...I didnt notice...so yea fix anyway!!!
I've noticed that Ratchet & Clank has had some serious lag issues in the pause menu that only appeared after I upgraded to 2.0 - hopefully 2.01 will address this, too.
Where's the DivX?
sounds good. i don't need an in-games xmb. but....i would like to be able to play music while browsing the net. and i really really really want a fully-supported web browser!
Knock on wood, my PS3 has been running like a champ for over a year.
Sony should release it as fast as possible and make evryone with system problems feel fine n enjoy their consoles.
