Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, prequel to the highly anticipated Gran Turismo 5, has finally gotten a solid release date...in Japan.
Both the GT5 Prologue disc and network distribution will be available on 13th December. When the title will be seen on European and American shores is yet to be revealed, but if the launch is similar to that of Gran Turismo HD, you won't have too long to wait.
No news has yet been revealed on pricing in any of the territories (the €45 rumor turned out to be a farce).
Be sure to keep checking PSU for more TGS 2007 updates.

lol why would it be free?
beacuse they *confirmed it* wow, whoever spread that rumor should die. just go run into a knife
Pretty picture pretty picture pretty picture - The cars look too perfect. They look too clean it's sterile. I'd like some realism I want to drive a car, take some risks and know that there are consequences to slamming up the Ar-ss of the car in front of me. I'm a bit over the similator slash car magazine. One or two of these games are OK but no more
They didn't "confirm" anything. They initially thought about giving it away for free but seriously don't yourself. It's worth the money and if you can't see that and your a tight cheap skate then gaming ain't for you.
If its free then Sony REALLY cares about its consumer.
I agree that getting the balance right is difficult but that's what makes a good game great.... As it stands now the cars are too shiny - so "photorealistic" that they look fake. I think Grand Turismo can be a lot better. Whilst GT3 is regarded as the best & I understand why, I actually prefer playing the original Grand Turismo more than GT4.
free or not this need to hurry up come out and give me my Grand Turismo fix.....
To The Cleaner: The cars look to sterile and clean? You'd like some realism? Well listen here ya big jerk, i was pulling out of my road at a stop sign. A subaru wrx STI drove by, so smooth, so clean. The first thought that popped into my head is wow, gt5 did it right. The real car moving down the road so smooth and clean looked just like the game. I was stunned. And you know, some people want their cars to look perfect :)
It's nice to know we're finally getting this soon. The GT series has been my favourite since I learned to play the first one. As anyone who has played this game knows, the beauty of it is that you do have to "learn" to drive in it.
U know that little in japan pause just kicked me in the balls... I really don't think it should be free though. Sony is losing alot of money just producing the ps3, We should chipp in a bit more. *don't kill me*
psn id: gingo... i hope this comes out before christmas i really want a shot of it
Enacku dont be a child and call people a "jerk". Yes some people like the cars to always look clean & perfect, some people don't - lets just leave it at that.
As for the environment: Maybe you like the roads to be perfect, no dust or tread marks on them (or make them disapear after 10 seconds). Maybe everyones hair should look more like a wig. For me personaly, I like things to look natural and I dont mind crossing the finishing line with a big scrach down the side of my car & a broken wheel guard because I'll remember the trouble I got into (and survived) that earned me that trophy.
As for the good looking sub you saw driving the other day; I own a 2006 Lancer Evolution IX (for road not rally) and a in Australia there are lots of great roads to drive on. I can assure you after spending over $62K I take good care of my car but I can also assure you that after a trip from Sydney to Mildura my car needs a wash and the occasional stone chip removed. GT5 should give me the opportunity to do things I would not feel comfortable doing in the real thing and the only reason Id use a simulator is to realise those consequences...
The Cleaner: Forza Motorsport 2 and/or NFS ProStreet may do you a better job than GT5. While I have not played any GT game, I can tell you that GT5 has sold me when it comes to photorealism. The cars look absolutely beautiful; they're the most realistic I have seen in any racing game. I wouldn't care to have such beautiful things smashed up. Whatever happens in the game happens. I won't hold a gun to Polyphony Digital's head and say, "GIVE ME REALISTIC DAMAGE TO ALL CARS!!!"
when is it coming out in the united states
