Takau Imasaki, Producer at Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA), has revealed that the online mode in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will eventually be updated to allow gamers to participate in private races and in-game voice conversations.
The game will launch with the ability to compete in online matches for up to 16 players, although for now at least, gamers will only be able to join Sony-created servers featuring pre-made scenarios.
However, Imasaki promised that more options would be added over time: "Private races with buddies and in-game chat are all in the works... but will not be ready from day one," he told the Official PlayStation Blog.
"Will keep you posted on the progress!"
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is due out in Europe on March 27, with a North American release following on April 17.

@ Deusthousand this is more of a demo then the full release so they still working on gt5 and will add features from gt5 to prolong over time they had stated that from the being.
Well that's a bummer that it won't be coming with voice chat. At least they are gonna bring it in later. This release is to close to GTAIV though, so I don't think I will be buying it when it first comes out. I'll let them figure out whats missing, and then pick it up.

Sony are way behind MS in turms of online gaming which sucks as I got rid of my 360 for a PS3. The one big bonus though is the lack of lag I have experienced. The 360 was really bad for laggy games. (Got my Logitech wheel today, yippie!)
@ Neameto4, yes you guys are getting this first, just like Wipeout Pulse came out first there too I think. But with this game, NA is getting additional content that will not be in any other region.
You guys can have GT5, as long as Resistance2 (America made) is ours first, and Killzone 2!
