Um... if I remember correctly, the original Golden Axe had spells as well.  You had to kick some gnomes in the butt to get magic potions.  The more potions you had, the more powerful the spell.  Gillus had lightning spells, but was better at physical attacks.  Ax Battler had wind spells... but he just sucked.  Tyris Flare had awesome fire spells... including a dragon that would scorch everyone on screen.

And yeah, saying FIRST is really lame (Although it's always entertaining when somebody says FIRST! and they are something like third post :P)

Well this looks terrible. If you got to choose your character then I woulda played but if not, its not worth my time :( . I was so excited about this game too.

Gillus (My favourite) and Ax Battler supporting characters, that's annoying, is it really that difficult to have three stories as apposed to just the one.
