Grand Theft Auto IV physics demo

Posted on January 26th, 2008 at 15:16 EDT

A group of individuals got together to create a physics based demonstration of Natural Motions, Euphoria engine. This is a significant video due in large part to the fact that Grand Theft Auto IV will be utilizing the exact same engine for itself. From drive-by shootings to running people over, this video covers pretty much all of it.

The Euphoria engine is something of beauty. A lot of gamers have been fighting for the past year and a half to have this engine placed in such games as Madden from EA Sports, as well as others. Rockstars decision to use the Natural Motion creation was a smart one if not brilliant. The engine is designed to create and generate animations on-the-fly as opposed to pre-determined end results. Due to this it causes every single event to be unique to that one moment in time.

This will definitely give GTAIV an incredible increased amount of replayability unlike ever before. With every happenstance unlike the last, it only makes you want to see how many crazy incidents you can truly create through Euphoria.

Natural Motions physics and animation system is the future. I can't wait to play Star Wars Unleashed and Backbreaker...both using this technology!

Looking at Star Wars Force Unleashed Euphoria physics demos compared to this, this one looks pretty weak if you ask me.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!! omg this is great!! is that wat its gonna be like? wow, im speechless lol, i like how now if u run people over, they dont jjust isnatny go flat on the ground or flat over youre car, they will actually move like a real person, my favourite was the ladder scene with the car, how they moved, so realisticly!!, this has brought back alot of my hype for this game ;)

wow yea thats really good....so its Euphoria? cause it has a water mark on the bottom of endorhine a 3d animation software that allows you to merge animation! you can use it in games but GTA is not using endorhin

this is not euhoria its endorhin and gta's physis's wont be anything like this.

Geez, I know you guys are enthusiastic but did you realaly miss something like that? I have to assume so since you pulled the video from the looks of the article. Might be a good idea to actually pull the article too until you've clear things up otherwise it's kinda pointless since I dont even thing there's been confirmation that GTA4 really IS using Euphoria.
