Haze delayed again

Posted on January 23rd, 2008 at 17:57 EDT

Gamers are still none the wiser as to when they will be able to play Ubisoft's Haze, after the release date was pushed back yet again.

The PlayStation3 exclusive had been scheduled for a March 18 release, but Ubisoft has now said that it will not appear in this quarter.

Ubisoft, developers of the TimeSplitters series and the publishers of Far Cry and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, have promised big things from this game, including no loading times between levels. The first person shooter, set 25 years in the future, was initially expected to be available before Christmas of last year, but now Haze has been pushed in to Ubisoft's next fiscal year, which begins this April.

That means that the game could be appearing any time between April 2008 and March 2009, but here's hoping that it's just a small adjustment for financial reasons rather than a lengthy delay.

wow, this stinkns. hopefully its only actually a month delay or so. weve got enough good fps coming out in fall with resistance and probably killzone, this should come out as early as it can before they do.

Maybe Haze is exactly like the name of the game implies... just a haze after all (a.k.a. vaporware for those that don't get it)

Yeah....besides delays, i keep reading off and on about that it might not be exclusive. It would be way better though if  it stays for PS3 only.

I think what is happening is that the devs are finally getting the hardware to a point they want to tweak the games to make them better and smoother.  Maybe they are adding content as well since they have the space on BD.

Well I don't blame them....nothing they have shown for HAZE hitherto has been able to hold a candle to COD4. The bar has been set extremely high for console FPS....anything not up to par doesn't stand a chance. And the longer they make us wait, the merciless we will become for this game if its not the best FPS out at its time.

P.S - With KZ2 and Resistance 2 on the horizon, its not gonna be easy.

Man this is gay... if its delayed again im not gonna even bother. Why set a release date if they KNOW they cant keep it. And whats also annoying is all the while the 360 fanboys are laughing at our exclusives cause they keep on getting pushed further and further back. They said 2008 was gonna be a great year for the PS3 but they forgot to mention the first 6 months are probebly gonna be the worst. Annoying as he!l

wow, if i preordered i would cancel but luckily i didnt.  This is rediculous.  They shouldve just kept the date TBA and stop messing with us.  We would be less pissed off.

delays can kill hype, just like some of HOMES hpye, im not saying theres no hype left for home, i know as well as all of u do that homes is the biggest thing ever to hit a playstation, but still, ive heard that there are alot of people who have such completly lost interest in it due to it being delayed so much, heres hoping this doesant happen with haze.

Free Radical is the developer for Haze not Ubisoft they are just the publisher. You need to update the article.

I just want Free Radical to finish Haze so they can hurry up and start work on Time Splitters 4! The Time Splitters series has always been my fav series of FPS!

I don't know if I'll even get this now. I might not have gotten it anyways as Gears of War and Halo 3 have spoiled me for FPS's. DJRUSSEL is right, our exclusives at the moment aren't doing too good. But then again, 360 has for good exclusives third/first person shooters and pretty much nothing else. I think the fact that they keep pushing back the release date for this is what's annoying us. If they don't push back the release on the Final Fantasy games I won't get annoyed, but they'll also be like the best games on ps3.

Wow, I'm just wondering if this game will be able to sell AT ALL after all the negative publicity and momentum being lost with these delays. I still have it pre-ordered and am hopeful but good grief! What's the deal, guys? From the gameplay demos this thing looked all but finished...just needing tuning. So what gives? Anyway, I hope the delays benefit the game and just make it incredibly polished and smooth. Just hoping as well that people will still give it a chance whenever it manages to squeak it's way out on to the market!

wow they should have never posted a date for this game if that was the case less people would be less annoyed, now it's to the point were the hype they had build up is drastically dying down. Free radical i know they can make some amazing games if you need time than so be it but dont promise us a release date and go against it, thats bad integrity and lack of credibility.

I rather want Haze to be delayed than than rushed. But still irritating..

Like Link64 said, I'll be very dissapointed if Haze will be like Assassins Creed, all that fuss and when you actually play it, it s**ks sooo bad.. And it's a shame.

Rather delayed than rushed!

I think its delayed because they know it will get canned very quickly if the game is yet another ball of puss like Assassins Creed and many many others.... Soldier of Fortune LOL!

Suggest renting everything - try before buy. Certainly you cant trust web sites & gaming magazines to give a straight review. Sony isnt doing any quality control so you best play before pay...
