Heavenly Sword story continues...if it sells well

Posted on September 15th, 2007 at 09:34 EDT

During a Q&A session at 3Rooms on Thursday night, Tameem Antoniades, co-founder of Ninja Theory, spoke about how we may see more of Heavenly Sword in the way of downloadable content. The catch: the game must sell well.

When PSU contacted Sony about the comments from Tameem, they said: "We have made no announcements regarding additional content for Heavenly Sword. We will keep you posted..."

Heavenly Sword has been receiving some top notch reviews which in turn should coax gamers into picking up the title. However, it is a title that appears to satisfy those that enjoy a story rather than the hardcore gaming population. We will have to wait for further comments to see just how many copies need to be sold to get that possible downloable content.

Stay tuned to PSU for more information.

This game is easily a 9 imo. The cutscenes, the story, the graphics are the best Ive seen in a game.

Its amazing after seeing the evolution of heavenly sword that it was original an xbox game and then how it evolved into finally releasing is just amazing. Especially releasing it on the ps3 and how the story could continue on ps3 as for content they may release some ps Home content and maybe some hair dyes for the lead character.

So far I've been really enjoying this game. (I'm only in the Midst of chapter 2.)  I love the cinematic quality and the story is top notch.  I would recommend this game to any PS3 owner with even an inkling of interest in action games (or even for those who simply love epic stories).  I can't tell you all enough how great I think this game is.

In that vein, I do hope that this title sells REALLY well, since I'd love to see a second installment.

I know I'm not the only one who loves these cinematic action games with high production value.  If they don't do a sequel then hopefully they will make a new game of the same genre.  New IP's are always good.

I beat Heavenly Sword in a straight six-hour sitting last night. The game was short, but that doesn't say anything about it's quality of visuals, sound, gameplay and storytelling. For an experience that, for me, rounded out to be $10/hour, it was worth every penny.

so THAT is the reason it is so short, so they can sell us DL content.....I think some of yall are not getting the idea of this. From this article we pull out that if it sells well, we will get DL content, at a price. Not HS2. I am not saying heavenly sword 2 WONT happen, but from this, it just means we will be getting DL content...

I love the graceful reactions from Nariko as she counterattacks those doodes wow bone crunchin chick flinging them into the gongs ha ha ha ha ha the drought is over you hear me haters... know dey ain't supposed to bet against the black 3rd [box] forward....

i love a good story and playing a game while the story is unfolding gets no better needs to be a longer story though for more gameplay. buy buy buy ps3 gamers buy 2 copies if you can that way when they make the sequel they know their work was appreciated on the first one and give us even more. (I have 3 doin my part)

The demo didn't do this game justice. The game is nothing short of amazing from story line to the graphics. A little on the short side but that doesn't mean its not a great game. I like online and extensive as much as the next guy/gal but nothing beats a great offline 1 player EMERSIVE gameplay. I totally suggest this to anyone that enjoys a good story, its playing a movie.

This is DUMB, there is a difference between adding more things because the game is "too good" by popular demand.

and adding more things because its been CRITICISED because its TOO short.

why should we feel honoured to have extra stuff?

jeez.

This is the first game I have finished in 2 days, and not because it was short, just because I could not put it down.  Played a bit when I bought it since it was late, then finished it the next day.  It was short but man it was sweet.  It still fun enough to play trew again.  I for one was never into the whole facial expresion hype or w/e, but that became one of the best things of the game.  The character emotions really brought life to this game.  Also playing as Kai was a blast.  I usually hate playing as anybody but the main character cuz it is so bad, but not with this game.  I just can't say enough about this game.

This is, hands down, the BEST game on the ps3....I feel honored to have played it.  The demo did not do this game justice...from gameplay to graphics to music...this game is top notch.  A MUST BUY!!!

Its a good effort and it would be in all our interests if it sold very well. If the sales number where not good it might scare of the few developers who actually work on PS3 instead of just porting.

PSU really should put up a review and give this game lots of airtime.

I also think we should start promoting the companies & their products for those who offer more exclusive titles to PS3 and we should do user reviews for these - anyone interested in writting reviews?
