Highmoon Studios said that the reason Matt Damon will not be appearing in the videogame adaptation of The Bourne Conspiracy is a result of the actor’s refusal to appear in any future movies in the series.
Speaking to Videogaming247.com, Highmoon’s Matt Tieger commented, “We did talk to Matt Damon early in the process when we were developing this game.”
“[Damon] was doing his press tours from Ultimatum at the time and he actually said he wasn’t going to do any more Bourne movies, which kind of put us in a bind because if we were going to commit to a franchise and he was going to bow out and they were going to do another movie without him, then we would have Matt Damon as Jason Bourne and they would have hired someone else.”
Despite this, Tieger hinted that there is a possibility of Damon returning for a future sequel, adding, “Who knows? In future games we could put him back in. I can’t talk much about sequel plans right now but we’re not going to rule it out,” he continued.
“When the game comes out he’s going to love it so much that he’ll want to be in it, I hope.”
The Bourne Conspiracy is due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on June 24.

idont know why but i love this line! lol
Putting the game aside for a second, it's always so sad when a character gets attached to an actor/actress's face and people can't get around that. Happened to Batman to Bond and now even Captain Kirk (though Kirk may be a little different since Shatner's (successful) career and Captain Kirk were born at the same time). All this kind of thing does is create stupid fanboys...
I'm not too worried.. would have been nice to play as Matt Damon in the game, but I guess he's good enough in the movies so that makes up for it lol The dude is a god in my eyes... and everything Jason Bourne rocks, so I soooooo hope The Bourne Conspiracy lives up to its name. I pray that it lives up to its name.
MGS4 will Bury this game for most PS3 owners. Bad release date they should move it to middle of summer.
uhh GTA IV ..nobody will care about another game for about a year. Sorry MGO ...but you lose. GTA IV will DOMINATE the PSN.

Shows what you know Matt Teiger. After the writers strike was over and done with, a script for a fourth bourne film was written up and Damon showed huge interest in reprising the role. Apparantley he changed his mind because the script was that good. Just say you couldn't afford him.

Well Damon did say He would like to make a fourth Movie just a few months back. So I think that is why they are bringing his name up now. Because this game took three years to make so back them Damon wanted to end with the third movie but after the movie did so well He said He might revisit Bourne again soon. Like in five years so the time the second Bourne game would come out Damon could work with the second game.

MTV Multiplayer says Damon is not in the game because the game is too violent.
