i wonder why he keeps saying the same thing and he really doesn't say why the ps3 is the only really amazing video game console!

@dougal uk read the No1 post properly, he is stating that he doesnt explain WHY the PS3 is the best, Hes looking for technical info, not hes reasoning as to why he is backing it or even making the statement.

The PS3's slow start humbled Sony, and I liked them that way.  The PS3 hate seems to be officially over for everyone but fanboys, but every time this guy is quoted as saying something, I cringe.  It's like he's a relic from the "old, arrogant" Sony public image.  He seems like the most out-of-touch personality of the video game world.  From developers to executives all over the industry, this guy seems like he's the least "plugged-in".  He doesn't have his finger on the pulse of anything or anyone.  At the very least, Sony needs an western spokesperson for the NA region, as Mr. Hirai fails to comprehend (and rightly so...How could he?) western attitudes.  If you boast like that, at least be on top when you say it.  People are getting just as fine a "next gen" performance on the 360 and they don't seem to be complaining much.

Having said all that, I do agree.  The 360 is nice, but the PS3 is the next gen system.  I basically never turn mine off.

Odium that is a great post. Who is Mr. Hirai trying to appeal to? Because the japanese normally don't bite into the hyperbole and since sega is done away with as a hardware company there is no real bravado to throw around.

It is great but lets see every game in 1080p i mean thats what they were originally boasting about wasnt it?,that u only get true hd through the ps3

just keep focusing on the games thats the most important part

He doesn't have to say why......the ps3 is plain and simple, a better, faster, more productive machine. MGS4 is just the beginning!

@8tanner1 you cant blame sony for games not being in 1080p. that part you part goes with the developers when making the game. plus if your tv dont support up to 1080p then you wont get 1080p picture. GS4 support 1080

Its true, for me anyways.  It has some new gameplay expereinces ( Folklore )  and some WAY new experiences ( Eye of Judgement, and LBP sounds awesome.  ) Yet is the most powerful, blu ray, internet, etc.

 

ANd idk why, but it just feels "right"  having a PS3.  Its like theres something being a PlayStation owner/fan which is just cool

Lets be honest here, they marketed the PS3 as a multimedia device to win the blu ray war. Now that they have done so, they can claim to have "missed" the original intent, and now sell it as a game console. They don't want to say that for obvious reasons, but if you look at it, it fits perfectly!

this is why i hate sony i love my ps3 but PC is way better and more powerful then the ps3 and xbox put together i hate people who think they're better than everybody else sony just shut up and before you talk look at the bad ports you're are getting and try to fix it and MGS4 doesnt make your system better than other. PS -FFFFF UUUUUUU SONY and i do love my ps3.

what makes me laugh is people that say pc > ps3, well you know what, Ferrari > Harley Davidson.

yeah i wanted to use another example that wasn't apples and oranges because i don't think these people understand how retarded the comment pc vs console really is. but on that stupid topic, there is no pc out there that can outperform a ps3 that isn't at least twice the price of a ps3.

i agree and he really doesnt have to say anything the games speak for themselves the experiences you get with ps3 games are in a completely different league than the competitors i mean heavenly sword, ratchet and clank future, uncharted, and obviously metal gear solid 4 are leaps and bounds over what we had last generation

and you can say that im saying this only because i own a sony console but i have played through and beaten all of the 360's killer apps and none of them impressed me as much as the ps3s games not even close

but i do agree with you too odium kaz does seem somewhat detatched the person i really like is jack tretton because he is just a normal guy

Kaz's only real problem is he talks too much. Phil knew how to just shut up sometimes and let the system do the talking in most cases. and when the systen couldn't talk for him he was able to answer questions inteligently and stay on message. Kaz makes big bold statments but doesnt know how to back them up.  It's not his fault, He's a hard sell type of guy slick with buzzwords and mini-slogans which is good for marekting but if you're flying by the seat of your pants as Kaz often does it's hard to be convincing to the people that really need convincing.

Wow, I really want this guys job.  Paid so much for speaking such a load of cr4p.  He attributes the machines difficult start to something other than the fact that his entire PR department are a bunch of complete id!ots.
