Weekly PlayStation 3 sales in Japan have slumped following an initial boost on the back of Konami’s Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, while the PlayStation Portable repositions itself back at the top of the charts.
According to Media Create, the PSP sold through 59,351 units for the week ended June 22, peaking ahead of both the Wii and DS, which shifted 41,037 and 36,599 units each, respectively.
Despite seeing a drop in sales over the previous week, PS3 sales still remained impressive, shifting over 20,000 units during the same period and maintaining its lead over the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360.

I didn´t really paid any attention to the PSP when launched, but I just recently bought one....And I must say it´s a really nifty piece of hardware. I now understand why the popularity
the ps2 has got to be the best system of any system that came out.
i dont get why people buy a ps2 instead of saving up for a ps3 it doesnt make any sense
Maybe some people are just now getting into the PS2 games, and are not yet ready for the PS3.

That is pretty bad. The PS3 is WAAAY down. I thought it would keep selling about 35-40k at least for a month. The 360 actually had a good week. That's weird.
The PSP has been kicking *ss for months now.
PSP still ahead after some time also PS3 still has high units and beating the 360 lol.
The PS3 needs to be smaller and cheaper in Japan
