yea but the Wii is a different story .. very low price , low graphics & it's not                 a hardcore  gaming machine .. i dont consider it a  compititor

Even I want the ps3 to be the best - but as long kids get the wii  and 16+ get ps3 I think it's perfect.  :P

Sony has always done better than M$ in Japan.. M$ is an american product and the Jap's would be damn if they think they can come up with something better then them.. Especially in an industry that they created..

And I am 20 and I have a PS3 and no Wii, although I am thinking of buying a Wii to my 8 year old sister. But right now, she is more interested in the new Playstation Eye.

Have you seen the software line up? People asy the PS3 has no games but the Wii ACTUALLY HAS NO GAMES. At best they have Paper Mario, Zelda and MAYBE Boogie might be interesting if you like music games, Everything else you can get on PS2 with an easier to use controller. Most people buy the system and just play Wii sports for 3 hours and that's it until company comes over.

i also dont consider the wii as a competitor. When this gen is all said and done, i will then compare the wii to the ps2 sales.

The PS3 is selling quite well for it's price. I'm happy. Once more price cuts come it should even sell better.

Who cares about the Wii. Thats casual market alone. People who buy Wii buy PS3 for the Hi-def experience . Japan has spoken PS3 is there choice for Hi-Def.

I think that is great news. Its funny, my roommate bought a WII and he has been on it twice and not since then.  He's had it for almost 4 months now.  I've setup a MII on it for myself and have played SSX Blur for about 15 minutes and I haven't been back on it either.  I love my PS3!

Wow PSP is now at number 2 and DS doesnt even rank anymore! That is a massive turnaround!   as for the Wii - I dont think we have seen the end to the run yet. Wii will probably go balistic when Metroid Prime 3, Super Smash Bros and Galaxy all roll in. I might even buy one and Ive never owned a nintendo before.

I'm so glad to see M$ still doing bad in Japan. I can't stand M$. Now if only people here in america felt the same way...

The Wii will drop out sometime... i mean, the only thing it's known for is it's motion sensors. And the PS2 is about to get the excact same thing, while PS3 actually got it (SIXAXIS) and will probably expand it soon.

360' owners all hate ps3 ownewers cause they had the first next-gen system but know a new way bigger badder toy is out and since consoles are pretty much baddass computers in a really tight space now a days its not really surprising that it only took around a year and a half for another system to come out in the same industry to pawn... whats really funny is 360 owners payed like 600 bucks when 360 was new and now for that kinda of money u can get a machine thats got potential for years to come anylists say 10-15 years wil be ps3 dominated while 360 will from know on always lack the actual prossecing power needed to compete in an already religious market... if u know what i mean... the elite is a sorry attempt by microsoft....to fool consumers into thinking their HDMI was the same... btw it's not, it's quite a bit outdated compared to ps3....and sony doesn't have to worry about their system getting cracked not for a long time i hope cause i dont agree with people getting their systems modified it's not fair to game developers...we all know that ps3 is slowly and surely going to outshine 360 if hasn't already in your town.... i work at toyzr us in the Video game section so it's kinda like i run an eb... i see all sorts of consumers and so many of them are clueless and their number one thing if they want a 360 over a ps3 is... it has so many more games.... so big f-*ken deal... it's also had a real big head start.... and come from a company were they pay their own employers to talk garbage about their only competitor who knows it's not even a competition to sony it's like watching that rabbit in the distance having it's nap while the turtle never stops getting closer to the hour of victory...anyway ps3 is better all u 360's ur system is good but not the best.... should have invested your money in a company that's whilling to loose 75$ per console they sell... just to give u a better product and make u realise being loyal to the best is the right choice.... btw halo 3 will almost 4 sure be a let down...ubisoft is making a game thats pretty much the same but for ps3 HAZE... gimme some nectar... lol... halo movie that i will impatiently wait for petar jackson in LOTR did a stunning job at creating a grandness to it all...so i suspext the battle grounds for the HALO movie will be along the same quality as the cgi in Transforners or 300... GO BLU-RAY

JBthegreat you can play wii all you want, as long no kids is on the ps3 *online*  I really dont care what other consoles you playing on lol. sorry kids, I just met too many annoying kids online! though I'll add some of you are cool.

Apparently, since the 360 is outselling the PS3 worldwide by a margin of nearly 3:1 and also dominates the Sony console each and every month in North America (the biggest market, by far), this article takes the only area where it's outselling MIcrosoft's console and makes it sound as if it's a world beater!  Talk about spin!

In fact, the XBox 360 leads over both the Wii and the PS3 in every market except Japan.  Over 11 million 360's sold to date, compared to 4.5 million PS3's, with over a 3:1 ratio in North America (6.75M to 1.87M)

But why let facts get in the way, right?  This is, after all, a Playstation website.  Anything related to Sony should have a good deal of BS! ;)
