SEGA's Alpha Protocol datedWhat do Steven Spielberg, John Woo, Peter Jackson, and now Jerry Bruckheimer have in common? Well not only are they tremendous television and film directors, but they are part of the growing list of Hollywood talent whom finds interest in the videogame industry.
Indeed, Mr. Bruckheimer is the new dog as reports show that he is joining forces with MTV games to create new IPs that will soon be released as videogames.
"Video games represent a new and innovative medium for what we've always tried to do, which is to tell great stories. But this medium is unique in that it gives the player control over how those stories unfold," Bruckheimer said.
"I look forward to working with MTV Games to create new original game stories, always looking for ways to innovate the medium."
Jeff Yapp, MTV Executive VP added that the content brought to the table by Bruckheimer, will be viewed as something more than your conventional videogame, hinting at possible industry innovation.
It appears as if we will be in for a treat when these titles come of age. As the videogame industry progresses further into the 21st century, many outside industries such as music and movies is starting to take notice of the capital worth in the games industry. In the films world, Bruckheimer has been the man behind greats such as Top Gun, Armageddon, Black Hawk Down, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

This sounds great! He would make great action game stories!
g.a.y
IP. Is that independent project?
le me see another dull fps
crap, he makes lame movies
psn id: gingo.. he could have joined with a better company but i'm sure all the games he makes will be good becasue he is a genius at films and tv shows
This guy really is a genius when it comes to immersive stories,i just hope the devs tell it the right way.@Kane
No,it stands for intellectual property.
having someone like him do storylines would be an amazing thing for the gaming industry.
IP actually stands for "intellectual property" I think anyway
It's fine by me, as long as more games come to the PS3...
I better not see anyone playing as Haratio in that cheesy CSI Miami crap!
yeah they are good film directors but i think the games gonna suck
making movie's is one state of mind making games is totally different
Jerry Bruckheimer is not a director or a writer HE IS A PRODUCER and has only ever produced movies, so all you idiots saying he makes bad movies or hes a good director realy need to look into what your talking about before posting, But I also agree he could have hooked up with a better game company the MTV
MTV Games???? Why????? Partner with the developers of Warhawk or Motorstorm or the developers of Haze. That would make more sense. Or even Activision or Midway, but MTV??????
We shall see
MTV + Bruckheimer = FAIL
@Kane: IP = Intellectual Property (in this context, new franchises)
"many outside industries such as music and movies is starting to take notice"
gotta love that PSU grammar
aight.
Bruckheimer used Micheal Bay as director for several of his movies. Bay was a Music video Director before a movie director. So prehaps Bruckheimer wants games with visual appeal and is looking to mine that pool of talent again.
Besides it's not like MTV actually plays any music anymore, theydo every other type of entertainment now.
cute, lets just hope these games don't come out crappy. . . unless it's a 360 exclusive, lol. just kidding.
