In an unexpected announcement, the Official PlayStation Blog has let it be known that the next issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly will feature a cover story on Killzone 2. While fans of the series have been waiting anxiously for new information and details about the anticipated PlayStation exclusive, it looks like the wait is finally over.

The coverage is said to be filled with new information regarding where the franchise is taking us, new gameplay tidbits and about the developers. This issue is expected in subscriber mailboxes by the end of the week. For those of you who want to pick it up in-stores, you'll have to wait until the end of June or early July before you can get your hands on a copy.

is it just me who dosent care about killzone since it got delayed?
its a year away anything they tell you now is subject to ALOT of change so why do we care. i brought psm3 last month cause snake was on the cover, turns out killzone was the main story i was (still am) hugely disapointed
I'm going to pick this up on newstands later this month.
Im anticipating EGm to rip this, and their "bitter" review of MGS4 to shreds.
Its looks good but its been delayed to 09 so i wont really care about it till winter what I want news on is LBP, Mirrors Edge, anything kingdom hearts and so on killzone is getting boring
@tadpole i was kinda disapointed with that psm3 as well :-(
We'll be lucky to get 5 pages of Killzone 2 info in EGM. Glad to see some Starcraft 2 info as well.
I read somewhere it was 12 pages long, goes into detail about the use of vehicles etc
It never was DELAYED! People on the net assumed, as did alot of other foks that it was arriving in the end of '08. However when you have LBP arriving in October, Motorstrom 2 (Fall), Resistance 2 in November with a few multiplats scattered throughout the it's too congested. Killzone 1 has a cult following who no doubt will buy it if it came out tomorrow, but you have alot of folks who are a little skiddish about buying it due to the mixed reviews of the first. So it needs a month all by itself to shine with nothing in its way to maximize sales. Also don't forget that it'll be after the xmas rush where there will be new owners of PS3's to buy into it.
psn id: gingo.... i've always been looking forward to killzone 2 ever since that first pre rendered trailer was shown hopefully it doesn't end up another haze though
the first killzone was in my opinion the best last generation FPS yet still no one was this hyped up about it, i dont know why people are getting boners about this one all of a sudden
ooo, looks like it's going to be a good issue.
@ GINGO
Its to late the game is not even out and they already saying that the gameplay is generic.
dosent killzone come out in the 1st Q of 09
Killzone II was never delayed for those thinking it is, it NEVER I repeat NEVER had a release date in the first place. And yes I'm looking forward to that new information.
i hate egm
Give me a freaking break. Nobody EVER questioned whether COD4 would do anything revolutionary over COD3 that would absolutely make it worth the buy. Nobody made sure Halo 3 absolutely changed the genre when it released. There's only a few freaking ways to shoot a gun. The only people who question whether this will be generic or not are fanboys and people who don't want to dish out 60 dollars on a game they didn't already have their mind set on. Basically, the only people that question the gameplay are people who WANT Killzone 2 to fail. Comments like CHRISBOSH disgust me.
@Girugamesh
Girugame, girugame
gotta check this one
@CRISBOSH
First of all, Girugamesh is the name of one of the Japanese bands I like. Google it. Secondly, most sites and mags that have previewed KZ2 never said the gameplay was generic or average or anything like that. Previews have only said they haven't seen enough gameplay to determine what they thought.
That's all. I still think it's ridiculous, which goes with my other post. People can't find anything wrong with KZ2, so they attack the only thing you can't PROVE isn't right. Like I said, they want it to fail. Killzone 2 is going to be a success no matter what happens, but hey, you never know what the Microsoft Defense Force is going to think of next.
^ Actually a lot of sites have complained about generic level design when the new demo for the first level came out several weeks ago. Also, I read a preview where they felt that the appearance of convenient red, explosive barrels around the levels was a very exhausted idea in FPS. I'm looking forward for the game as much as anyone else, so don't think I'm a hater too, but that's what other sites have said.
The magazine cover looks great. Helghast are really cool
@ 12 "they already saying that the gameplay is generic."
Really? Who said that? Since when is the last time you took some jag's opinion about a game before the final version is even done. I think I'll make my own opinion about KZ2 when it htis. I know it will be good.
@Xdeth
Seriously, I haven't even seen one preview complaining about the gameplay. Actually, from some, I've heard quite the contrary.
But for the ones that did give a bad preview, it's probably the same fools that gave MGS4 a bad review. Which means nothing to me.
Killzone 2 is going to absolutely own. Even if the graphics weren't that great, to me, the gameplay looks splendid. Much better than most other FPS's out there, and certainly better than any FPS's I own. (I own COD4.)
Seriously, f**k the media! You have to screen out all the BS for the facts and make a judgement based on your gut feeling if this is a game you will enjoy playing. Feels like the PS3 has been under attack even before it launched and I'm sick of the under handed politics infesting the gaming media. Look at GTA IV, it was a good game but to give it 10/10, come on really now, wtf is that. Anyway, I digress, well it so happens that I just recently played the original Killzone for the first time, and it made me realize just how much I enjoy FPS. Killzone2 looks like it's going to pwn some serious a** from what I've seen so far. If you get caught up in the over hype of any game you are just setting yourself up for disappointment in the long run. I'm still looking forward to hearing more about this game, the nay sayers have a right to their opinions but that doesn't mean I have to listen. "FRAG OUT!"
I remember EGM had a tomato splattered PS3 on their cover sometime around the systems launch(window). Although it was just an article on how & why the PS3 was being so poorly received, putting that image on the cover was not one of the better ideas they've had. Haven't bought an issue since then & I still won't.
