Looks the same to me

ps3 version definaly looks better..  so much more lighter, and looks smoother.. i didint like it xbox much, maybe ill try it out for ps3.

They look pretty much the same except for the finer details in the PS3 version. The smoke for instance looks more realistic, as does the snow particles and lighting. Other than that thats about it (i think).

Anti- aliasing, alphas , particles and color vibrance looks better on the 360. The PS3 looks a little bit sharper. Also it seems as if the PS3 version dialed back on the crazy motion blur.

Take for instance the picture of wayne the fur show better on the 360 but becuase the PS3 version is a little lighter you can see more detail on the textures. Its not fair to judge that one explosion comparison but the embers from the explosion seemed muted on the PS3.

I would say the PS3 looks better, I like the way the smoke looks, its much more realistic.  The sky looks amazing on the PS3, it looks like a true winter day here in Manitoba Canada.  Now that is very impressive.

The xbox version seems to have more motion blur, but that might be just the pictures they had and didnt have any motion blur images for the PS3. I have noticed the PS3 hasn't been getting the motion blur effect in ports as strongly it seems.

The 360 images also seem to be photos of a TV while the PS3 images are direct captures.

Ok, the last two pictures. First one, snow isn't in the 360 version like that? Last one, smoke looks better on the PS version. Unfortunately it's hard to tell what the colors on the PS version in that pic are since it's ALL smoke. I wouldn't know much about the comparisons though as I haven't played the 360 version.

There's a huge difference. Ps2 has more power, thus gives better effects. See how we get fog alot more realistic lookin? Gives a more realistic effect. The first picture is substantialy different, as in the Ps3 version makes the EggBox picture look Antique, but worthless.

you guys are bunch of homos the xbox 360 pics are way old probably from before the release because I've played on the Xbox 360 and graphics are the same as the Ps3 ones comparing with the PS3 pictures. This site needs to learn how to compare pictures.

Those PS3 pics don't do them any justice, check out the ones right here. Now, granted they aren't comparison shots but this proves that the PS3' s version is not as washed out or jaggy as some may seem.

Um okay? As long as people enjoy it who really cares? That being said at least its not a crappy port like whats been happening recently with games.

360 more virbant, but overkill with the motion blur. PS3 makes it seem more believable that you're in an icy environment, and the image of the girl isn't as washed out as the 360 one. Definitely as good as 360. Smoothness of framerate while playing will be the deciding factor though.

Firstly the pictures aren't the same so a fair comparison isn't possible and secondly the Xbox 360 vrsion is over a year old!!! I'd expect Capcom to be able to improves the visuals given the extra time they've had. As for the vibrant colours etc of the 360 version, I agree but too many games for my book have far too vibrant a colour pallet and I think ruins the visuals of many a game of the Xbox. Also has anyone else noticed the gloss o'vision on 360 games? Seriously some games look like they've been dipped in a tin of clear gloss varnish, its not nice!!! Whether or not the visuals are better it'll still only be Lost Planet and the game sucked on 360 when I played it.

The PS3 version looks a lot more realistic because in the xbox version, the colors are much more vivid and clear which isnt realistic, in the ps3 version, when its snowing, the colors are faded out which makes it more realistic. PS3 version.

PS3 version is alot more detailed, just check out the background 'blue screen' on xBox come on.................

Everyone (Hyperbole of the day) knows I'm a Sony boy here, but the vibrancy of the X-Box colours work better for me.

I wouldn't say it's a problem with Ps3 colours, interestingly it appears to be a creative art decision.

With the colour palette being far more subtle.

I'm usually for subtlety mind you, but this is about glorious bug killing!

Although I'm no expert (Isn't it so refreshing to hear the opposite?) the graphics do look better on the PS3, as one would bl**dy hope!

I can only hope they ditch that whole-having-to-collect-orbs-over-time-to-survive aspect, as that seemed to be a gaming contrivance and a cheap way to install urgency.

The Xbox 360 version has some really defined colors but I definitely think the PlayStation 3 version looks so much better and much more realistic. I might be getting this game after all.

The 360 version looks like it has more fun involved, while the PS3 version looks more serious. I dunno why it seems like that to me though.

you can't tell from those screen shots, they have diffrent lighting and some have somke & particles while others don't. It's not a fair comparison.

Damien2487 you are blid.. Galaxyman14 colorful things are for fruit cakes. imo games are better if the color is toned down, stuff doesnt need to be vibrant and blinding. PS3 shots color is more realistic. tje smoke at the last scren comparison looks far better on the ps3 as well. i like how the chick in the 2nd shot looks on the xbox360 verson tho. shes les...gold.

As I first said, anyone who has lived on the praries in USA or Canada knows that the PS3 shot is very realistic.  Those grey clouds and depressing feel is what its like almost every winter day.  I look outside now and it looks like that and its not even winter yet.  Its a depressing time of year with few few bright blue skies like the ones on the xbox game.  The PS3 game thus has a more realistic feel to it.  Not that the 360 version is bad, the PS3 is just more  true to life (minus giant bugs that obviously dont exsist.)

ps3 one looks way better. The grafics aren't a bunch of straight lines like 360 has. Ps3 is smoother. And in 1080p everything looks better. lol

Screen shots are irrelevant.... especially these.  Everyone one shows different locations, time of day, weather, inside/outside.  It is virtually impossible to get the exact same shot in each comparison shot.  It would appear that the person who made these was intentionally trying to make one look better than the other.  Will see how the game actually is when it comes out.

These comparison shots suck. The only way to REALLY compare them is to have identical shots from the same scene. As it stands the PS3 version looks more gray and washed out compared to the Crayola-rich 360 version.

Until we see shots that are from the EXACT SAME SCENE or moment in the game it's really hard to compare. Right now though they both look about the same but the 360 seems to have a richer color palette. That's not to say the PS3 won't have that same color or if Capcom purposely "grayed it up" in order to make it more realistic looking. I guess we'll have to wait and see for the final release.

I've read on N4G that this comparison have Xbox 360 screenshots from 2005. If this is true, the comparison is useless.

I don't know or care about WHEN the images were taken. Judging them purely on what is presented here, I'd have to say that in terms of graphical quality, they're pretty much identical.

The main difference is in the colours. The PS3 version looks more like 'real world' colours, while the 360 version is brighter and more like 'comic book' colours.

That said, all the photos are taken in different locations, with lighting at different angles, so it's difficult to say.

The partical system looks way better on the playstaiton 3. The smoke is just amazzing, wile the 360 ver.'s smoke is more like a blob of black. The colors for the 360 ver are more defined which makes the game look very cartoony. Wile the ps3 ver. is mor of a blend which makes it look better. And also there probely is not any anti lizing becouse its still  be worked on by the devlopers.!

Both look good! I just hope that the PS3 version does not suffer framerate issues because it is a port and most ports that I have played have good graphics but a little sluggish framerate.Thats why I'm more interested in Sony's first party games that look beautiful:Heavenly Sword, Ratchet & Clank, & Haze.

IF they had identical shots we could make a real comparison. But they're not!! I like the smoke more in the last pic on the ps3. 360 has some better color in others except in the second photo ps3 has better color. I think its pretty much to close to call with these photos anyways. Lets get some identical photos and we will see then. But from what im seeing the port isnt turning out that bad. Ill wait to see the final product.

i would say 360 looks more cartoony, (i dont know how else to say it). And the PS3 version looks more realistic...take it how you will...but it is just one persons opinion...The real difference is that i wouldnt look twice if it looked like the 360 version, but this just might get  rental...def. a DL if they put it on PSN

To those who have clear eyesight like me, obviously, in this graphic illustration - comparison xbox 360 looks so dumb, as in dumb, as if it was like ps1 graphics like - just kiddin'.. but seriously it was.. so, i believe ps3 is far more superior.. in term of potential "BLU-RAY DISC" ps3 games will definitely  become the ultimate next gen gaming system, sooner or later,  whether we like it or not..

xbox by far is better! compare all of the backgrounds way more detail on xbox. look at the fur on the pilots jacket way more detail. the pic of the girl has more detail hair, lips,gun and clothes. 3rd pic has detail in the snow ps3 has no detail( pretty hard to make the ground white eh?) .his gun looks like metal ps3 ver. looks like a plastic water gun. oh yeah the snow on his clothes is a nice touch also.  4th pic AGAIN  far better background some knocked the motion blur pause any cg movie and you will see the same thing it makes the image look more fluid. pic 5 the smoke does look better on the ps3 but it should cause it takes up the whole screen the xbox ver. has way more stuff to look at little bits of ambers, flames ad stuff and look a blue sky not white (???) like the ps3 face it ps3 owners xbox is the better console
