If it's one thing I hate, it's the milking of a franchise. What corrupts game producers is that they just don't know..when to end it. A game has to do badly before they cut it loose, unfortunately.

I would have to respectfully disagree FantasyStar. With something like MGS it has the story it has the unanswered questions about other people in the series past. I would prefer some games revolving around how some of the bosses from the other games came to be or perhaps the leaders and how those groups were formed. But i have said it a million times i desperatley want a game were Gray Fox is the main character.

Lets see what direction they will take after MGS4, maybe introduce new characters or even some sort of prequel showing the early days of snake. Anyways good to know that this is not the last MGS.

i have always loved the mgs series, but the fact i wouldnt be playing as snake in the any future games doesnt really bother me, hes been a great character, and from what ive heard this game will be a great closing chapter for him. the real question is do i want to play another mgs that is not being helmed but kojima? oh well at least he's gonna start on z.o.e 3 some time soonish  :) cant wait for june 12th!

I was going to side against milking the franchise but I would imagine an action game staring null would be awesome. As long as it is done well then it is forgivable.

metal gear is the main reason i have a playstation, if there was no metal gear i wouldnt own a games console. no other game comes close to being better than the mgs series.

As long as it's PS3 exclusive, it's okay....

I would prefer they kill the MGS series with this one. I really can't imagine any other character playing Snakes role. They tried that once in MGS 2 and it failed (cough raiden)

i hate people saying meryl silverburgh as the next hero. retords. omfg!! be serious.   it wouldn't make sense. the next hero will be new and a new story line. possibly having nothing to do with MGS4. i love these games and i am waiting for it . stop trying to make up stuff for a new story, it will just hurt your head. that's why kojima is here.

MGS won't be the same with another person.

Its not milking, metal gear is awesome and those guys have worked with kojima so long they know what he would do in every situationl.

Snake is by far one of my favorite video game characters and it will be sad to not see him in future titles but I will still be a fan of the series.

I'm SOO glad these rumors keep going around that this is the end of Metal Gear.  I haven't played one game of the series and I knew it was only the end of Solid Snake.
