GameFront is reporting that applicants for the Metal Gear Online Beta have started receiving their invitations.
Well the site could be no more correct as we also received a copy at 9:40 AM PST.
MGO is, as the name suggests, an online-oriented entry in the Metal Gear franchise, following up on the success of the online portion of MGS3 Subsistence on PS2 and MGS Portable Ops on PSP. Metal Gear Online allows up to 16 players to sneak and attack in online combat scenarios.
Even though there is no beta other than in Japan for the lucky few, this is quite exciting news. Keep the cursor on PSU for more information on Metal Gear Online.

i was about to sign up but the i realized the consequnces of not knowing ANYTHING at ALL. so i didnt do it.
I don't know why most of you are complaining. The US gets most of the beta testing anyway. Yes, I live in the US but I'm not distraight about being left out of another beta. It's normal anymore.
