Well thats ashame but if the extra dev time is needed then its needed. Thats the thing with video games - its hard to make deadlines cause all sorts of problems come up that werent expected.. and with a new console it usually takes a while to get the hang of things and perfect it before you can start making games that reach their deadlines more frequently. Either that, or there is no problem at all and they're simply trying to push the polygons, or adding additional content, or whatever.

I can read Japanese, and the Japanese press release states that MGS4 release date is Q1 2008.

This is not bad. If any of you have ever followed the MGS series and their release dates, ALL of them have had their released dates pushed back AT LEAST two times each! This is not an abnormality; Kojima just doesn't like to give out crap to the fans. Go aheand and tell me again that ensuring a quality experience is bad, and I can assure you that you need to go and hug Vista along with all the idiotic M$ fanboys.

Bosssnake is right! Plus cut them some slack, at least they are making the effort to push the PS3 and develop for it from scratch. i would rather they took there time than go the sloppy rushed out port route like most others. So stop moaning about the PS3 and go get an S**TE box 360.

at the people complaining about this delay,seriously its not like we dont have other quality games coming out. Kojima is a perfectionist and i would rather wait for the game to be at its best instead of having a rushed version.

Besides, its not like its been delayed a year or two. Its only 2-3 months O.o Does it really matter to have to wait just a little longer?

I could care less if they delay it. It just gives them more time to make the game perfect.

As BossSnake said, it's usual that this happens with MGS titles. I still believe that it'll be delayed until Q3/Q4. MGS usually launches at the end of the year. I will buy this game the second it comes out, but I won't get too excited until we get to this time next year.

Oh thank god, we have soooooooo many good games coming out in the next two months, I was having such a hard time trying to figure out which ones to get, this just makes it easier!!!!! :) And we get a better game in the end as a bonus!

Doesn't bother me 1 bit. If I have to choose, I'd rather have quality over a rushed game, anyway something I know for a fact Hideo would not do. If he had to delay MGS4 to give us more polish and a better product, then by all means let him do it. He knows what he is doing and I have nothing but faith in him to give us that quality. It's not Sony's fault that the delay was placed, if you have any complaints, then go to Konami's forums and vent over there. I can wait for the MGS4. I've been waiting this long, I can wait a little longer. I didn't expect it to come out until Q2 2008, anyway.

This is good as many olks will be tied up with other titles coming down the pipe. Also this will be timed right along the US release of the DS3 and kojima may have a MGS:4 PS3 bundle in the works that will have one with the system. This way eveyone gets to plays the game the way it's meant to be played.....with rumble. No big deal to me just as long LBP is out before then.

MGS4 is cool and all, but i really wish people would just stop anouncing release dates. it tends to end with a disapointing 'Delay' announcement. Just tell us your making X game and thats it...

Well as long as it stays exclusive and they make it the best they can then I am okay with the delay. Besides they are so many games coming out to keep us all busy until MGS4.

I love how people forget that MS and Nintendo have had plenty of delays.  Also all the HUGE delays on the PS2 including all the MGS games.  As far as I am concerned I needed this delay.  There are just way to many games requiring my attention and some more time between games is just what I need.

Well the game will for sure go down in history, it will probabley get top notch ratings. Its going to be huge, so i guess delaying in a few months isnt all theat bad, considerting it will be better.

Of course. Is anyone surprised? Once again the Bill Bucks probably had a hand in it. Pay to have a game delayed that was pretty much guaranteed to sell systems. Ridiculous >:(
