well,time passes by quickly so it would be better if they release it when they think the game is ready because c'mon..we dont a bummed out MGS4!!if this is gonna be the last saga of MGS then kojima should go out with a bang!!

Hopefully the online in this is better then the first MGO, the multiplayer in that sucked.

I'm so looking forward to playing mgs4, but I wouldn't mind if it was released in the third quarter, if that makes the game better, plenty of other games to keep me amused. I can't believe it's almost here, 4 years of antisepation, it's almost time.

@ Freshboy seriously this is news about mgs 4 dont go off about gta 4 being better. anyways, im glad its coming out in the second quarter, i dont think waiting a few more months would even do anything at this point as they are almost at the bug testing stage. theres no need for us to wait till the 3rd quarter. sweet news, this should sell many systems and its a potential game of the year.

this game will be miles better than gta4, or anything else.

This game will be 100% amazing plus the added extra perfection i hope they release content thru psn as well sorta give the gamers an extended replay value that itll already "Deliver".

Kojima seems like the kinda guy that would hire thousands of bug testers if he had to, if it meant sticking to a date becuase the fans are upset. Usually when he says something he means it.

They must be cookin' up some MEGA-MARKETING strategy for the release of the game/s. 

I just hope they release a 10th Anniversary package as well that comes with the entire franchise series (kinda like what Japan got but even more!), I wouldn't mind spending big on that if it's gonna be a collector's item! 

Just hoping there aren't any stealth delays come 2nd Qtr of this year!

Gotta make sure they meet that deadline as a lot is riding on this game. Lets hope in anticipation.

This is great news,let's just hope this game is glitch-free when it releases.Becuz alotta heavyhitters of 2007 had some really nasty glitches,take you time and get it right Kojima.

If a lot is riding on this game plus the hype I think it would be best to give kojima all thetime he needs dont ya think? I dont want a rushed product, and it seems due to the pressure from the media and fans he feels obligated to release because wee waited long enough, I for one think it should release in the fall say Novemeber ready for the holiday season with a A+++ perfect game.

Really Dave?  I mean, you're pretty much guaranteed a slew of info a few months before a games release, expecially in a game convention the same year of release.  Nothing against you, it just sounded a little off to me.

sweet. i got mine pre-ordered and fully paid of just for the release date and because i am a really big fan!

I hate when people go on about "i don't mind waiting if it means a better game"...If every developer listened to that we wouldn't get any new games.

 

Every day someone somewhere finds a new or better way of doing something, game devs can only incorporate so much before they have to make the decision to stop and release the game.  Think abut how blown away with Assassn's Creed you were when you first saw the screenshots of it way back in 06...then thinka bout the game now...not as good as we hoped and thats because it took so long to release because the were constanly trying to update things and change things that it meant by the time it was released we had had better games...games taht pushed the bar a bit further...COD4 for example...if Killzone 2 is delayed too long it won't be as great because we'll have seen it all in other FPS...

 

I'm all for MGS and i can't wait for MGS4 to be released but I hope it's soon otehrwise the only thing driving it will be the story as the gameplay will have been passed by by something else...

This game is worth waiting. Just take your time Kojima and deliver us a game to remember.
