EA Sports may catch a lot of flack from the gaming community about subpar ports to the PlayStation 3 or games that may be filled with bugs. Fortunately for sports fans though, NCAA '09 will come through with the promise EA had made last year. Kendall Boyd, NCAA Football product manager, has stated that NCAA '09 will run at a smooth and beautiful 60 FPS.
With last year serving up a poor 30 FPS in both football franchises, it seemed like EA just didn't care about the PlayStation 3, but Boyd then let these magical words slip through: "The PS3 version will run at 60 frames per second."
One of the coolest things gamers have been given this generation is full analogue control. Whether it was through Skate, Fight Night Round 3, or MLB 2K8, we had the ability to feel more "in" the game with complete control. Boyd is promising that NCAA will be no exception this year.
"But now, much like when you play Fight Night, you can rotate the analog stick to go into a spin move, and instead of just letting that animation play out, you can now go from animation to animation and juke to juke by your control," commented Boyd. "It's all about the fluidity."
With Boyd promising a plethora of new tackle animations and with the upcoming announcement of the PS3 exclusive NCAA '09 cover in April, it seems like the Sony faithful will have one more bright spot to look forward to in 2008. With a year that is shaping up to be an incredible year in gaming history, we'll see how well it delivers.
We'll keep you sports fans updated about this title as more information is released.

Well it's about time.
I hope they do the same with Madden 09!!!!!
those are just his words, i want to see it in motion.
Yeah right! And pigs have been flying since the Wright Brothers' first flight at Kittyhawk. I don't believe a thing EA says in regards to PS3 ports.
this is hard to believe especially coming from ea
When they start making Madden on the PS3 like they did with the ps2 and not the crapbox version and maybe I will buy it.
sweet!
i hope they decide to put in 1-aa teams. i mean come on they can not say there is no room. it is a blu ray disc and they did it on the ps2 dvd disc
LOL.When I read the title I thought it meant First Person Shooter and I was like what?! well thats one way to be different lol.
I hope nobody actually believes this until it's demoed. More than likely, there will be something later on that will hamper that 60FPS, proving once again that EA can't cut it.
Yeah, well we'll just see about that. And how about fixing the slow and clunky online play while they're at it?
psn id: gingo.... there is no reason not to make a sports game 60 fps as it doesn't take up much power as they are not exactly graphic heavy
alright Now!
@Deldwin
Don't get on people because you are a dork that doesn't like sports because you were never good at them...You realize that all First Person Shooters at any time are basically built on one of 2 or 3 graphics engines, right? So essentially, YOU'RE playing the same fVcki'n FPS over and over again and no one seems to question that.
That's great. If anyone here has pull with EA, tell them to make it so you can turn the QB passing on Auto, and that you have the option to turn it off....just like the PS2 version. That's the main reason I resold my game. I like coaching, but I want to do it in NCAA Football, so I call the plays, and the players execute it.
Also, take off the "difficulty levels". The game and players should run soley by their attributes. The game shouldn't make it more difficult, or more easy, just by hitting some buttons. If a player out-matches another in their attributes, it should play that way.
I will believe it when it happens...
With EA thou, you can never be sure. Anyway, while your at it , Can we please have in game stats and some sort of halftime show. Just integrate at little ESPN into the game please. Is that to much to ask!!!!. Oh and lets make the sidelines a little more active with moving players. Is that to much to ask. Otherwise a good step forward....
dont like this game
i think al stick with maden lol
@ gingo psn id: gingo
lol, I just had to say that. I agree though. How much processing power can one football field with 22 players really take up? I mean, that TOUR game was HORRIBLE!
I'll believe it when I see it!!
