Additonal Info:
Criterion Games has confirmed it is working on a new patch for the PlayStation 3 version of Burnout Paradise.
According to the company’s official website, patch v1.3 – dubbed “cagney” – will offer 1080i compatibility, allowing players who own a 1080i TV that does not support 720p to run in full High Definition, as opposed to Standard Definition.
However, Criterion notes, “If you have the option to run 720p, we still recommend you run the game in this mode, because the 1080i image is effectively scaled from 720p."
More information is expected later this week.

What about thoose islands?
This is about a "patch" not a DLC! Anyways, you prolly need this patch aswell for the DLC to work with it.
How about a patch that enables you to re start a bl**dy race whe you fail to win. Why dont they try and create a patch that is actually usefull and improves the game instead of minor cr@py tweeks
1080i stands for interlaced which isn't as good as 1080p for progressive inputs, so yes their both full Hi-Def standards but compared to 720p, 1080i isn't as good because while its a higher resolution image, progressive always comes in instantly compared to interlaced which come in every other line or something similar, if i'm wrong please correct me :).
I agree. I got so narked when you make one stupid mistake in a race then have to drive back to the start. Most of the time I can't be bothered.
I suspect it has something to do with the fact that the races are in an open arena and it's not that simple to "reset" the environment to the initial state. Or some such techy gubbins.
psn id: gingo.... lol didn't even know this was a problem, but at least they are doing something about it
Why dont they create a patch that removes the part of the brain which remembers downloading and playing the demo. What an embarrassing game.
Full HD is not and will never be 1080i, 1080i is a dream and a sad one. Stick with 720p or 1080p. Interlaced just makes everything look terrible.
This patch is specifically for people that have older HD sets that can only display in 1080i. I've never heard of a 1080p set that didn't support 720p, so like they said, if your TV supports 720p, then that's the way its meant to be played. A lot of games that natively run in 720p don't upscale to 1080, they only downscale to 480, so these people only get to play games in standard-def.
Okay lets just hope there is more to the patch.... Maybe 2 player split screen, ha ha.

Wow like gingo didn't know there was an "issue" with the game
