New information in regards to Final Fantasy XIII has been released today. There has been light shed on the new Cocoon Government.
"Cocoon's government is using crystals with the power to change man's destiny to force those on Pulse to work against their will. In turn, the citizens of Pulse are rebelling. Their force is led by the only confirmed character so far, a feisty woman who goes by the codename of 'Lightning'.
Apparently the player won't know if he's (Note: I presume by "he" they are talking about Mr. 33cm) on Lightning's side or not until a certain point in the game. One new feature to help develop the story will be a 'split-screen' of sorts, showing different characters in different locations on screen at the same time."
So, the break down is pretty much that this female character named Lightning is leading a rebellion against a government that treats its people poorly. The split-screen is being rumored to be in regards to having windows of other characters on your screen while you play so you get a more rounded feel as to what is transpiring throughout the story.

WOW ive never heard a story like this before!
I think there is some similarities in the storyline with FF7 (rebellions, governments). LIke The1Weapon mention, maybe a PIP would be suffice instead of a split screen (if you're just spying on the other characters that is).
Anyway, it sounds like an intriguing story so far. But I'm interested in "Mr. 13 inch"...he's either a very small "mini-me" or has a very large "member" !!! LOL!!
As for KH3, I can't see that happening until they've finished both FFXIII games! Earliest release I see for it, I reckon, would be late 2010!

This split screen sounds intriguing because it reminds me of Heavenly sword it was a great way to story tell while playing the game, plus it made it that more exciting without stopping you from all the action.
Played a little of FF VIII? I believe it was, and liked it. This will probably be my first FF game that I buy.

Being a big fan of the FF series, this kind of sounds like FF IX where you did real time events. I really hope thought the main character isnt a female. Didnt SE learn anything from X-2 ? It has nothing to do with sexism either. I just dont want to play XIII as a female character. I heard along time ago that she wasnt but we will see.
