New maps coming to Stranglehold

Posted on January 6th, 2008 at 17:46 EDT

Stranglehold graced the PlayStation 3 in late 2007, it was a direct sequel to John Woo’s Film, Hard-Boiled. The single player aspect of the game is very intense, unfortunately also very short, which leaves gamers seeking out the online multiplayer aspect as a way of continuing on the replayability of the game. Some would say that Stranglehold's online multiplayer is too monotonous to fall in love with, thus forcing gamers to allow the game to collect dust.

Enter Midway, the developer/publisher of Stranglehold, with their much needed additions. These additions include 10 new maps for the PSN. Accompanying the new maps are 21 new online character skins and 10 new achievements worth up to 250 points. Now before you get too excited, let us use this moment to bring you the important details, one of which is the price, which will be $15 for the downloadable content. The $15 will cover 10 new maps, 21 new skins, and 250 achievable achievement points.

So what is this content worth to you? Can you truly become bored with Stranglehold and label it as dull, if $15 is all it requires to rejuvenate the title into something fresh? Currently the download is listed as “Coming Soon”, so just keep on the lookout for it.

psn id: gingo.... why is there achievements for the ps3 version, there is no need of points for any reason on ps3 so this sounds like the xbox 360's version to me, i think ps3 will only get the skins and maps

I tried to play this game online about a week ago and absolutely no one was playing, i was the only person on the servers, LOL. So i traded it in @ gamestation for £28 (Not bad since i only got it for £30). My point being why is Midway even bothering with creating new maps and skins if no one is interested at all in the game. Plus the single player campaign was completely abismal.

@ gingo Well don't forget.... Whenever HOME is released there are going to be unlockable achievements for games... like Uncharted for example... they're working on the update... unless it's already been released... not that i know of.... but... all we need now is for SONY to let us put the icing on that HOMEmade cake and just murder the industry and call it a night....

LOL I guess I was in the minority for this. I was planning on getting the limited edition with hard boiled. But I am waiting for it to be cheaper.

@Uncool: I'm with you.  The demo was great but I don't think the CE is quite worth $70.
