All Alone in the Dark PS3 changes detailedSony has officially released the long awaited firmware update 2.00 for the PlayStation 3. For those of you interested, head to your software update icons now to begin your downloads.
The latest firmware update adds new features such as Remote Start which enables users to turn on and turn off their PlayStation 3's using thier PSP via wi-fi.

And the best part of this update is that i wont have to listen to dumb people still wondering where the bull 2.0 release is that was rumored and debunked like 8 months ago.
I'm not going to bich about in game XMB. But I WILL say this. We should be able to message our friends in game. We should be able to listen to music in game. We should be able to chat with mics to our friends in game. I'm not goona freak out about these lack of features, but I'm very disappointed. If Sony has been working on this update a year, God knows how long it will take to get in game XMB.
no in game xmb already downloaded IT basically everything named at the top theinformation board tell you welcome to the information board its nothing special wtf a dissapointment for me
^^They will eventually do that I think since the 360 does it and is a quite popular feature as well. Not sure when they are implementing it though.
just think of this as a setup for ingame xmb, its just another step closer, it sounds likethey are going to be adding it soon cause there are rumours of some survey they did on what the people wanted. They know what we want and its almost here. :) finally that 2.0 update now those gay rumours will be gone :)
There has been many things in this update that has not been mentioned. For instance, when you download a video you can watch it now while it is downloading, and you can also put all you downloaded games in a folder.
Please tell me SOMETHING else has been added.
All I want is In-game XMB so I can listen to music while playing games. That's all. It's not much to ask for, is it?
the xmb = being abel to do everything we want in game if not that at least slowly faze in features like music play abitly and messger in game then when xmb is finshed phaze it all into the one feature

How's about an option to have your avatar be invisible when you don't want to be bothered or just have a private game with one player?!? Hmmm...maybe next time eh! Along with all the other features alot of people are disappointed about being non-existent...at the moment!
All this and PS3 have only been out a year? Imagine in 3 years, damn there it will be a totally different console! o.o

What about HOME? Isnt that going to take the place of all the functions of XMB in game because the way I understood home is that it isnt a standalone game but a way to view photos, music, chat, and launch into games from Home. Therefore the ingame messaging will come about when we get HOME. That is atleast my guess because why would they release XMB ingame when that is what HOME will do also.
so much for all the features that were "leaked". anyway, what i want to see is a full on photo editor using the power of the cell. get to it!

Well, I found the first GLITCH in this update... If you have animated icons on your videos, then sort them into folders, the icons don't animate anymore, its just a static image. I know this is nit-picking, but its a glitch nonetheless.

How many times do I have to say this?...There are customizable soundtracks for in-game play.The F***ing devs. aren't implementing them yet.Why you ask I don't have a F***ing clue!!!

Lads, seriously, I was just using my Octo camo in the Sony exectutive meeting, they totally couldn't see me, I heard that 3.0 is going to have the following features...
-In-game XMB
-Ultra Mode for 7 times the power of a normal PS3
-Support for 12 million USB cables (I know, how can they do that in a firmware update...but they've done it)
-Cheese grater
-Homework Machine
-Back scratcher
-Parents alarm (warning you that your parents are coming, sweet huh)
Man Sony has failed to deliever on this firmware update, they knew what the community was expecting for this update and for whatever reason, they decided to release it without it. Or even saying if/when they intend to release those features.
