Since I will be attending the event next week for PSU, I can confirm a few things that readers can expect to hear about from the convention. Just to name of a few things, here is a quick list of scheduled stuff I will be seeing:
- Insomniac Games "Special Presentation" (possibly Resistance 2)
- Dark Sector (first look and hands on with multiplayer)
- Interstellar Marines
- Echochrome
- GT5 Prologue
- Secret Agent Clank
- God of War Chains of Olympus
- New Warhawk DLC
- Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds
- King of Fighters XII
- Star Wars Force Unleashed
- Prototype
- Street Fighter IV
And that's just for starters. Some other things readers can possibly look forward to include EA's Mirrors Edge and Battlefield Bad Company, as well as Steel Monkey's 2 Days to Vegas and Fantasy Lab's Danger Planet.
However I do have some disappointing details about GDC that may ruin some of the excitement for you. Apparently Sony will be keeping a low profile this year at GDC. This means that people can expect such games as Killzone 2, The Getaway, Motorstorm 2, and possibly even Home to not make an appearance.
When I spoke with SCEA, they told me that they were not planning any full-scale media events for GDC, however their plans were not 100% nailed down yet.

With 2008 unanimously regarded by many as the ‘year of the PlayStation 3’, next week’s Game Developers Conference looks set to provide Sony with the proverbial launch pad for showcasing a wide variety of upcoming attractions for its latest home console.
With some luck, we can even hope that it may finally silence those who categorically refuse to believe that the system remains nothing more than an exorbitantly hyped piece of kit in the face of its rivals (yes, believe it or not, they still do exist despite PS3’s impressive showcase throughout 2007, which successfully converted yours truly)
With obligatory introductory ramblings over, we start with one subject that has no doubt taken up permanent residence at the back of everyone’s mind; namely the debut of Team ICO’s elusive PS3 title, which has been drumming up speculation only weeks prior to GDC. While it may be wishful thinking on my part, GDC would present the ideal opportunity to finally lift the curtain on this eagerly awaited project, and potentially steal the show away from the competition in the process.
Titles that stand a good chance of making an appearance include the PS3 port of Lost Planet, along with LittleBigPlanet, which should hopefully rear its head in playable form. There’s also the possibility that Sony may finally decide to unveil concrete details on the next instalment in The Getaway franchise, which has been in limbo now for quite some time.
Of course, it would be disingenuous to suggest that Sony should maintain its focus purely on software at the event, considering the PS3 has more than it’s fair share to prove in other avenues, most notably the integration of the forthcoming online community service, PlayStation Home. Hopefully, the company will see fit to demonstrate any new additions to the service (especially in light of recent modifications) and, more importantly, unveil exactly how third parties are looking to take advantage of it.

I can already tell that GDC is going to be hectic as I am still currently working out my schedule which is constantly a work in progress. From industry parties, to hands-on demos, to Videogames Live that Friday, GDC 2008 is going to be a great experience for PSU, ... (continued on next page)

Resistance 2, and GT5:P info i'm looking foward too, and hopefully naughtydog show something anything that has to do with the next jak game if their there.
Any Resistance 2, KOF, SFIV and Prototype info you guys can glean would be appreciated. I wonder what else we'll see. LBP maybe? I wouldn't mind seeing Infamous make an appearance either. Other than that, maybe an announcement about Platinum/Greatest Hits games for EU/NA regions etc since Japan got the "The Best" line up announced. Hopefully the cases we get won't be that uggers though... :P
According to Ryan Peyton's Podcast this week, he said that Metal Gear Solid 4 wont be at GDC this year because they are really busy (they should be busy).
However, I'm kind of disappointed to hear that most of Sony's big games most likely wont be making an appearance. I'm really looking forward to The Getaway 3, Killzone 2, and other Sony exclusives and I was looking forward to hearing about some new info about the games.
All I really care about is Sony having it's big guns (Killzone 2, The Getaway, Motorstorm 2, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2 etc...) out at E3 2008 in July, and that's all because E3 is where Sony shines. For some reason I've noticed that Sony likes to keep things discrete and secret until a certain time... I think that it's a good tactic because at E3 Sony will blow Microsoft and Nintendo out of the building!
Eight Days, L.A. Norie, Infamous, Little Big Planet, Africa, HOME, Aqua, is what I want to see!
we will just have to wait and see, i agree with Aclay though.
Is naughtydog working on a new Jak game? i thought they woud continue with uncharted and make a sequel...
nothing to do with this but just thought i better let any fifa 08 owners out there that the january transfer update is finally out in europe.
I agree with AntFarm... I want to see more LA Noire!! I'm sure we'll see and hear more of it once GTA IV is out.
psn id: gingo... i truly dont have a lue what to expect from GDC although i'm really hoping for some 8 days info and an update on HOME
I hope they show a trailer or gameplay of Resistance 2..... and maybe a release date for home.
Interesting to see what does go down. I'd like to hear of Resistance2 making an appearance as well as GT5P. I'm keeping an eye on darksector too.
i just want konami to say the release date of mgs4 at GDC. that's about it. and GT5. i'll buy that when it comes out
Sony better show something amazing, like last year.
The focus won't be so much on Sony it would seem but more on their 3rd party offerings and perhaps a little bit of home (or not at all).
Cool. I hope Sony reveals more on Home and Killzone 2. MGS4 not showing is understandable since the game is due in June.
wow E3 at the L.A convention center!, imma have to try to find a way to get in that.
well if they announce a date for Echochrome then I'll be set. =D.
Well I'm not expecting much, but hopefully I'm wrong
I agree with #4, it's kind of a good thing that Sony doesn't show too much. E3 is what really matters. Imagine how many things Sony will be able to show when E3 comes around. All these exclusives hopefully: Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Final Fantasy VIII, GTP, MGS4, LBP, Wardevil, Team Ico's project, Twisted Metal, White Knight Story, Africa and like 5 or more exclusive games that I can't remember!
I hope GDC is big for Sony, my hopes are high.
Footage is swell, but I really want them to just let me know WTF they are doing about the 80gb system! I need to know about the new SKU!
dark sector multiplayer woooooot!
What happened to MSG4 no one talks about it. An all your posts are on everything else except for MSG4. WTF!!!!!!!!!
Maybe Sony show us really cool stuffs in E3. KZ2. Resistance2. GT5. MS2=(Motor Storm2) and Uncharted 2 will be? never mind but unchared and few others i'll keep in mind he he
