The new PlayStation 3 Firmware Update 2.35 is now live and available for download. According to Sony the update fixes compatibility issues for a few PS3 titles, however not for GTA IV.
"I just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up that a PS3 firmware update (v2.35) will be released shortly. This is a relatively minor update to improve stability of some PS3 titles," wrote Director, PlayStation Network Operations Eric Lempel.
SCEA's Al de Leon further commented, "I just want to clarify that this upcoming firmware update isn’t related to GTA IV. For those of you who may still have an issue playing the game on your PS3, we have identified a solution that should resolve the issue. You can contact SCEA Consumer Services for support — their contact info and hours of service, as well as more information on this issue, are available in our Knowledge Center (http://playstation.custhelp.com/)."

everything is doesnt really matter to me until in game xmb but still its good to see that theyre keeping the ps3 running strong
GTA4 was already fixed with it's own update. Strange that this update is so large if there is nothing much in it. Is there something else included?
I think thats the number 1 question on everyone's mind. What does it do?
Of course it has to be related to GTA4, it's ridiculous to think it isn't! IT'S A SYSTEM SELLER!! Anyway, i haven't experienced any problems with it on the single player, but on the multiplayer side of it, well, let's just say I've been lucky enough to play a few games before the pretty message saying: "You have been disconnected to one or more players. Returning to single player" It's a big update so, I hope it "fixes" something I can notice.
EDIT: the only good thing about the online is that it's lag-free for me, but well, thats from the 2 out of 50 times trying to log on.
Let's hope that they explain what this update is for soon
This is a timely reply from SONY & even though this update doesn't rectify the GTA4 issue, they are starting to get on the ball with these things.
At the very least, they are keeping the consumer notified.
Of course, there shouldn't have been such an issue to begin with, but chit happens.;)
Any problems I had with GTA Online was fixed with that patch..Been able to play perfectly ever since.
Ah well, according to our insider we have less than a month til the next proper update !!
i don't see reason ?? my all games working fine. except GTA4 online always saying crappy message
but keep improving system is good and kinda cool haha
Yeah, let's fix all the games except the ones which don't work... idiots.
my version of fta works perfectly the only really minor thing wrong is when buying food in restraunts it sometimes freezes for 30 seconds but then resovles it. and thats the only issues that and a bug i thinks uin all version where if you hav a boat with a big sail you can still go under bridge and sail will just go through.
for those that dont know: GTA supplied its own fix and the reason the PS3 and indeed the PSP updates are always slightly larger each time is because they replace the firmware in its entirity plus the new fixes, so patch No1 for example = 28mb patch No 2 will = 28.5mb.
I don't really have any issues other then COD 4 (online) still messing up sometimes. DL it now though.
If this was a minor update 2.31 woudl have sounded nicer. They can always suprise you with a 2.35 with some more updates.
psn id: gingo... not a big exciting update but at least they are working behind the scenes to make as many games as possible run as smooth as possible
