Tantalizing Demon's Souls screenshots emergeSony Computer Entertainment of Japan recently reported that they will be putting a halt to their PlayStation.com services. The closing stages will begin with a stop to the e-commerce areas in December with the mail news services ending in February of next year.
For those wanting an explanation for the closing, remember that PlayStation.com was originally the home for downloadable content for the PS2. Now with the PlayStation Network, the older service is no longer relevant, since the PlayStation Network is accessible through your PS3 (and soon PC as well).
As for the Japanese PlayStation.com, it will continue to run, as it will serve as Sony’s official source for Japanese news and information.

Does this go for the shopping services or the us playstation site as a whole?

so, am i not going to get e-mails from sony anymore?.... like for PSStore updates?.... this article didn't really explain enough about the e-mails.... or if the US is in any way effected?
I can't wait until they make the PS Store available for PC users. I'll be downloading stuff all the time on my PC and just transferring it to my PS3 (assuming that's how it will work) all the time!
