While we always assumed that it would, it's now confirmed that Resistance 2 will have a public beta. GamePro has revealed that their August issue will feature a full preview of Resistance 2, including hands on details, a "colossal secret," and a contest for readers to potentially win Resistance 2 beta codes.
The beta will surely allow users to check out the 60 player online warfare as well as see a work in progress version of Insomniac's new ranking system.
So two major PS3 exclusives are to be covered now in August; Electronic Gaming Monthly will feature a full-fledged story on Killzone 2, and now Gamepro will have the inside scoop on Resistance 2. Get your hype hats on, it's going to be one hell of a ride.

Just to clarify, public means available to some members of the public, but not necessarily everyone. It's unknown if it will be an open or closed beta. Most likely closed.
Public beta is a bti deceptive. If it was a real public beta, you wouldn't have to win beta codes. I'd be willing to bet Qore is getting those codes.

Its going to be closed, with a game this big only a select few from what Insomniac will want as testers will be chosen.
Their cover makes it sound lik the beta codes are in the actual magazine. Not something you have to enter to win.
