Rock Band to feature Grateful Dead download packets

Posted on September 5th, 2007 at 15:06 EDT

Rhino Entertainment and Harmonix have completed a deal that will bring 18 master recordings of the Grateful Dead to Rock Band. This will be featured as an additional downloadable packet with songs such as:

(1.) "Truckin"
(2.) "Uncle John's Band"
(3.) "Touch of Grey"
(4.) "Sugar Magnolia"
(5.) "Casey Jones"

Paul DeGooyer, owner of Harmonix went on to say that, "Grateful Dead's unique fusion of rock, folk, bluegrass, blues, and jazz challenged traditional musical boundaries and pushed the limits of creativity to produce a signature sound that is undeniably their own." Indeed, a solid commentary to back up their already revolutionary marketing ability and style.

With downloadable content of this magnitude coming to Rock Band, we could surely see some other ground breaking content packs. Stay tuned to PSU for further information.
