One of the greatest Street Fighter characters ever was Akuma from Street Fighter II Turbo. With a solid cast so far confirmed for the upcoming title, Street Fighter IV, a new image has been floating around the internet that features the hidden gem, Akuma. It appears to be an updated render model much like the ones being used in SF IV.
With GDC 2008 taking place, it's only befitting that rumors of this nature are popping up and we're sure they'll continue throughout the week. Capcom is expected to touch base in regards to this title during the Game Developer's Conference, so we'll keep you informed if anything is confirmed regarding this rumor or not.

The good thing about GDC (and other things like that) is that rumors that starts to spread at this time, tends to be true!! :)
Shadowrep has this one absolutely correct. Capcom has once again shown that they can lower the bar with the best of um'. They are teasing the fans with letting a rumor float around about a character that should be the first, if not one of the first, confirmed characters for the game. This is worse then all that speculation about Luigi not being in Brawl.

Sh!t...this is current-gen gaming. Akuma, DeeJay, Cammy, Sagat....basically the whole damn SSF2T cast better be there along with the new ones....OR I AM NOT GETTING THIS (you hear me Crapcom?). With KOF XII and BlazBlue coming to the PS3...SF4 has already dropped in the ranks of being a must get fighter title.(the PSN SF2THD still is a must get though lol). Crapcom can be a real sock-cooker sometimes. (though I do hope they are trying to get the rights to use marvel characters again so we may now get a new MvC3 ^___^ )
rumor or not akuma has to be in street fighter IV..he's like one of the most strongest and awesome character in the street fighter franchise.
That and he can't take a hit hehe. But yes 3rd strike Akuma is awesome and in SF II downright pwnage.

Looks good,if true,but if this is not the sprite for Akuma,,they better still put him in the game,and a couple of Alpha characters in there too,like Guy,Cody,basically any and every character to set foot in this franchise should be included,heck this is STREET FIGHTER'S NEXT GEN DEBUT,Capcom can't mess that up.
