Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 Interview

Posted on October 9th, 2007 at 07:14 EDT

(continued from previous page) ...in offering the most robust and detailed creation tool available, as this year we’re offering nearly 1,400 unique Create-A-Superstar parts. In fact, fans can not only expect a slew of new parts to customize their Superstar with, but we’ve also overhauled the interface, making it easier than ever for players to quickly jump in and create any character they can imagine.

PSU: With Chris Benoit once playing a big part in SvR 2008 and now having to take him completely out of the game, how has this affected development and what are your thoughts on his removal from the video game?

Without getting into too many specifics, each year we work hand in hand with the WWE to deliver the most current roster possible. With the WWE television product always changing, it’s up to us to deliver the most accurate and entertaining roster for the fans play with, and this year, I feel we’ve succeeded once again in doing so.

PSU: What is the expected highest resolution for Smackdown vs. Raw 2008? Any plans for going 1080p?

The game this year will be running at 720p, and I can’t say yet whether or not we will be switching to 1080p resolution in future games.

PSU: Will there be a Xbox Live and PlayStation Network demo before the games release and if so when?

Yes. There will be a demo available for download on Xbox Live shortly before the game ships in November, so definitely keep an eye out for that and any further news on the subject.

We would like to thank Dan Ryan once again for interview.

Stay tuned for more coverage on THQ's Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 here at PSU in the near future.

Sony4Life its true, the guy that interview him didn't bother ask if there will be a PSN demo at least.. Those people can't interview for nothing. D3v1I is right, it's suppose to be about PSN not Xbox Livre. So next time when those guys interview, they should only ask if by any chance there's a PSN demo. CurseNinja22 even noticed the guy said Xbox live demo and the guy just let slide through withou asking if PSN demo is coming

If I could choose between the two features I would take the custom music over the motion head movement. We've never had custom music on our Playstation consoles. Why can't we have it for this WWE game? Didn't someone from Sony say that games on PS3 can already have in-game music, its just down to the developers to implement it? I'm sure I read this and I know it can be done as it done in this game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzNWSviUbj0.

This is a video on youtube dated July 07 on a demo of someone on a game (I'm not sure of the game but I think there was an earlier PSP version) and in the game he selects options to access the PS3 hdd's music folder. The in-game music stops and plays the song off the hdd.

So I beleive now that in-game music from the hdd can be done if the developer implements it into the game. What you can't do is play your music at any point of any game by accessing the xmb from in-game. in-game xmb is what we need in the next update.

We should all bombared Yukes with emails requesting them to put in-game music for the PS3 version as it can be done.
