Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) President David Reeves has said that the company is hoping Media Molecule’s upcoming LittleBigPlanet will generate more sales at retail than Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.
Prologue, developed by Polyphony Digital, became the fastest selling PlayStation 3 title to date upon its release in March this year, and contributed to a 14 per cent rise in PS3 hardware sales at the time.
However, Reeves expects LittleBigPlanet to surpass the popular racing title, telling Gamesindustry.biz: "We're hoping sales will be higher than GT5 Prologue.”
The quirky has already been pegged by analysts as a system seller, noting that it will likely appeal to a demographic that has yet to be explored by both Microsoft and Nintendo.
SCEJ President, Kazuo Hirai, commented: "[LittleBigPlaneet] will completely revolutionaise the way gamers interact with their games, especially through the community functions and the ability to interact with LittleBigPlanet lovers around the globe.”
LittleBigPlanet is due for release in October 2008.

It's already an automatic buy for me, just like Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, MotorStorm Pacific Rift, WipEout HD etc.

little big planet will definitly sell more than gt5 prologue, not sure if it will pass the full game of gt5 but definitly surpass prologue.

im not gonna buy prolgoue as its just a tarted up demo but does anyone know when the full game is out?

For sure this game will sell better then GT. My friend has GT its like a demo, atleast this game is new.
This game (In my opinion) will definitely sell more than Gran Turismo Prologue. No doubt about it. Little Big Planet is a brilliant game, with new ideas and I think the Japanese will love it! They absolutely love these type of games. I wish Sony, a good luck.

not only does it have great online and user customization but it has pixar quality graphics i caint wait.
seriously, who doesnt want this game? seriously, this games will let you use your imagination in ways you have never thought before. you'll spend hours on and off line just messing around. its different than anyother game out there. its a better game than any game the wii or xbox has/will have.
@Littleb69: oviously you've been living under a rock or have no imagination what so ever...
I am waiting for reviews. I don't use online so I am not sure if the game will have enough content with just the single player and offline multiplayer.
