Sony plans to moderate content in LittleBigPlanet

Posted on April 15th, 2008 at 07:24 EDT

According to Eurogamer, Sony has revealed that it plans to moderate user-generated content in Media Molecule’s upcoming PlayStation 3 title, LittleBigPlanet.

News comes following reports claiming that users will be able rate each others content submitted, with legal action being taken should "mature content" get out of hand.

In response to this, a spokesperson for Sony commented, "We'll be moderating LittleBigPlanet's user-generated content in the same manner as we moderate all our online games. A good example of this is My SingStar."

LittleBigPlanet is currently scheduled for release in September 2008.

Yeah. doesn't seem too bad. We don't want kids playing on maps that are shaped like massive roosters.

I agree. It only makes sense to moderate content like this. After all, I think we can all agree that nobody wants to download levels that are covered in giant penises.

@IONIXX
It's not really Sony pushing LBP, it's Media Molecule, and, anyways, they want to market it because it's going to be one of the greatest games this year. They would be stupid not to publicize the he|| out of it.

@ 5 LMFAO!!! I was just thinking something similar. I could see how some people might get out of control. I'm all for creativitity and freedom, but I'm glad Sony is stepping in on this.
