In lieu of strengthening its marketing strategy for the Holiday season, Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) has commissioned publisher Future Plus to create brochures for the PlayStation 3.
The brochures will be a whopping 60 pages long. In addition, they will be divided into four chapters, concentrating on the console's HD capability, online features, and future game and movie releases. About 250,000 copies of the brochure will be distributed at retailers and transport across the UK.
SCE exclaimed its purpose and excitement for such a venue in its marketing strategy: "Future Plus got the objective of communicating the broad functionality of Playstation 3 in a digestible form from day one. Their solution meets the objective whilst retaining a sense of attitude and personality which is so important to play station. Deepening consumer’s understanding of the PS3 is important for us this Christmas and the brochure will play a key role in achieving this.”
Sony will be hoping that this campaign pays dividends as sales have been relatively slow compared to the Wii.

60 pages... thats a lot of reading. but im sure that it will be full of lots of usefull info :)
60 FREAKING PAGES! nobody's going to read that unless they ar already interested in buying a PS3. sony should make a compressed version with like 6 pages max. 60 pages isn't a brochure, it's a text book.
maybe they couldn't fit it in less than 60 pages....
psn id: gingo... i've already got a ps3 but i would buy this just to let my friends see plus i would read it just because i like reading especially when it's something i'm interested in
why so much focus on the UK; it is in the US where they are failing the most as far as I know.
All they need is some tv commercials, not a text book/brochure,which most people won't be interested in.
finally they want to take a decent step foward in the marketing area ! but with a 60 page long brochure ?!?! give me a break ...
It better come with a free dvd or somthing because in marketing terms this is already a bust. Yeah it's great for distiling the features of the PS3 and fully informing people what this beast can do but you;ll loose people's interest in the first 3 pages. Marketing has to be quick consice and to the point. Reduce the size of it and maybe pwople will read it otherwise it just becomes a very heavy adition to the recycling bin unless people really want to know.
wow got to get a copy of this, whens it coming out?????
