Take a look at Mirror's Edge's upcoming demoIn a statement released today on the company’s official website, Sony Computer Entertainment has warned users of the possible unauthorised access of personal information on the PlayStation Store.
The company stated: "Although unlikely, it is possible that the passwords of a small percentage of PlayStation Network users may have been changed through unauthorised access, making it possible to view users' personal information and/or use the wallet for the PlayStation Store.”
However, Sony noted that individual’s credit card numbers are unlikely to be compromised due to the fact the users account does not display the full number of digits.
The company assures that it has taken immediate steps to resolve the issue, and encourages users to sign in to determine whether or not their account is still intact. Those who are able to sign in successfully with their pre-set password have not been affected.
"We have investigated the extent of unauthorized access and possible alteration of passwords that could have occurred before corrective measures were taken, and are directly contacting customers who may have been affected by this incident,” the company said.

It why these idiots should have brought the psn cards to other place besides japan....I swear sony makes so many silly mistakes sometimes...
I have my info stored so I can easily buy stuff when I want without hassle. This kinda worries me and I hope they get the PSN cards out soon.
Easy fix, After adding funds then remove the CC info from the account.
Thats why, after a purchase, I ´´´clean`` the credit card fields! Its easy and it stays blank forever. Even though the credit cards numbers are like this: 1454************255. So... whats the middle numbers?! Right! And then, ther´s the PIN number on the back of your card!
If people say this is an unsafe place (PSN Store), then no online purchases should be made cause all ARE AVAILABLE FOR HACKING!!! Thats why there are PIN numbers on your card.
Best check it out tonight to see if i have been compromised oooeeerrrr How has this happend Sony????
@Soul 654 Please can you use english to post comments as we are not all gangsta wannabee's
this is why we need those freekin PSN cards!! But thankfully mine and hopefully the majority (if not all) of you haven't had yours compromised.
Should have got those PSN cards out already and hardly anyone would have to worry. As long as Sony doesn't let this get as bad as Microsoft's XBL stealing, I'll be calm.
psn id: gingo.... sony really do need to get the psn cards out as soon as but until then they really need to keep their system as secure as possible
damn M$ hackers trying to make sony seem bad
@Soul 654: Sorry I don't speak G.
this is another reason we need the psn cards!!!! Where are they?!?!?!?!?
Man I am away from home so I cant check I will have to wait and see. I hope mine still okay
As more and more companies use computers to store information (like all of them) even if you don't make online purchases your not safe. Bank of America has been hacked twich in the last couple of years. Even if you didn't have a credit card, they now would have your bank info....so...I can see how can this can worry people but if you look at the whole picture, if someone wants it bad enough, they most likely can get it.
thats why sony should hurry up and get the PSN card out to the local game store, so we don't have to use our credit cards.
Oh great, what next???
maybe Sony release they're psn carts with home he he :D but that promotion cart 's and others what are they and there is psn card named section is out there anyone have a clue?
