All is soon to be revealed about the upcoming PSN title SOCOM Confrontation, but gamers have been provided with a teaser of what's to come.
The full details of the game will be published in the May Issue of EGM, but for now, we'll have to do with details of the Special Forces available at launch of the game. They include:
Navy Sea, Air and Land (SEALs, United States)
Special Air Service (SAS, United Kingdom)
Kommando Spezialkräfte (KSK, Germany)
Unidad de Operaciones Especiales (UOE, Spain)
1er Régiment de Parachutistes d'Infanterie de Marine (1er RPIMa, France)
You will be able to become part of these special forces by joining a clan, although solo players will only be able to play as either commandos or mercenaries. Special Forces will be kitted out with their associated uniforms, gear and weapons, which are only available to clan members.
Italy's COMSUBIM nor France's GIGN will be included in the game at least not in the initial release.

Being waiting for this one a long time i just cant wait to play it with my old buddies from previous socom games from ps2
Sounds very much like fun, but I preffer using the RUSSIAN SPETSNAZ, as well as the Royal Kommand Force.
I hope its not a PSN title (or atleast a PS3 dicc game aswell), I like discs not data I can one day lose. :/
@Fenix - it is a PSN game, tho sony has said a blu-ray would be available too like what they did with Warhawk and GT5-P.

GIGN isn't a special forces in the context of the rest of the game. GIGN are essentially elite police counter terrorism unit and are only a national force within france. I highly doubt they will be added. The game is focused and will have forces that partake in international counter terrorism and conflict issues. Yes, SAS do have CT role but they are also trained and deployed in guerilla and A symmetrical warfare theaters too which is what the bases of this game follows is more the point of special forces rather then counter terrorism. Hopefully they add NZSAS or SASR(aussie) at later date for us. Russian Spetsnaz will probably make it as a unit in the game at a later date hopefully.
There will be disk and PSN download version probably and headset bundle with disk version.
Sounds good, sounds like they are trying to push the idea of teaming with a clan, or trying to build a community, as individuals not in a clan will not be able to use certains items and guns... I do not know if that is a good or a bad thing though. I mean some people just like to be solo, and play with some friends here and there. Not I, but I know some people do, why pentalize them and not allow them to use certain items or weapons? Show the field be even or unbalanced?
I think delta force and the royal marine commandos should be in the game
