It was inevitable, but now it's official: Street Fighter IV is heading to consoles and PC. Capcom just announced the next numbered iteration in the Street Fighter series will arrive on PS3, 360 and PC.

"The next generation Street Fighter game finally finds a home on Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3 system and Windows-based PC. Now you can join in on the non-stop breathtaking fighting game with all your favorite Street Fighter characters. Street Fighter IV brings a brand new fighting game to fans the world over. With the inclusion of Capcom's latest advancements in new generation technology, Street Fighter IV promises to deliver an extraordinary experience that will re-introduce the world to the time-honored art of virtual martial arts."

No official time frame was given, but we've heard that the arcade port of the title will hit during the upcoming holiday season. We'll have more for you on the now-official PS3 version of Street Fighter IV soon.

Good news just hope they can transform it into a game that will step it up to the next gen level without ruining its reputation. all in all it sounds great one more notch in the PS3`s belt.

Not to complain, but I have noticed that Capcom and some others (EA) tend to always list the 360 before the PS3, then the PC.  I help put content on some of our corporate websites and can say that little to no marketing crap goes out without a ton of people looking it over.

Does anyone know of any cross platform game that is comming out for the PS3 and 360 where Capcom or EA listed the PS3 first, or for that matter ahead of the 360?

I will remove my tin foil hat when I see an offical marketing blurb :-)

MK vs DC? Thats so stupid to even think of being a legit fighting game. Not all cross overs are made of win yah know. @ Undying_Darkness. But yeah I didn't like the art direction for SF IV, its character models look too different from the series itself. Many other 2D fighters have high res and anime-esque artstyle for their franchises like the GG and Meltyblood series to name a few. All I really care about is the game mechanics in terms of balance, tier listing, and priority/hitbox moves.

What in the heck do they mean this is confirmed? How else are they going to release it? They said it was coming out on consoles from the beginning. Worthless news!
