THQ has unveiled a new off-road racer named Baja due out this August on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Developed by Phoenix-based studio 2XL Games, Baja is set to include extensive real-time off-road physics, over 100 square miles of vast, hazardous terrain in addition to an in-depth customisation option, allowing you to tweak the performance of your vehicle to your liking with hundreds of authentic parts.
Richard Browne, THQ’s Vice President of Product Development, commented,
"With the level of detail in each vehicle, the vast open vistas and the most realistic off-road physics to date, Baja will provide an unparalleled racing experience.”
Stay tuned for more information on Baja as it becomes available.

top of the list again!!!!
ok, but will it be anything close to being as fun as motorstorm, or as challenging as dirt?
What's with the weirdly named off-road racers nowadays. First Pure and now Baja? What's next? Gaga?
I totally agree with Azu. Too many wierdly named racers. And Motorstorm will wipe the floor with this game, Baja. And what's with the name? Baja... not as catchy as Motorstorn or Gran Turismo.. aww well. I, looking forward to seeing this game sit on the shelves while Motorstorm 2 is out-of-stock. =-]
THQ sucks at PS3 development, from what I've heard. How bout we develop this one on the PS3 this time, mmk?
Jumping on the Motorstorm band wagon no less, even with vehicle tweeks i will be sticking with Motorstorm 2
MX vs. ATV untamed sucked and i dont see this being any better. the name is lame and boring. Motostorm, pure, GT5 and ect. will be alot better, no use even looking into this game
i agree THQ aint got a good track record for PS3 but to asume this is a bad game by the name alone, ill laugh if this becomes the best racer this year.
ps - motorstorm was an ok game and i see why ppl like it but i just could not play that for a long period of time, got borin in about the first hour i played it
I have to agree with a few other people and say that THQ is a crappy PS3 developer. The last game they "attempted" to develop for the PS3 was Frontlines Fuel of War but the PS3 version got cancelled.
However, I read about Baja in this months issue of Playstation Magazine and I'm actually looking forward to this game. At first when I saw the name title and what type of game it was going to be in the magazine I thought, "Well, here's another crappy 3rd party racing game", but when I read on about the game and read the details, it sounded pretty interesting. Basically THQ wants Baja to be the Gran Turismo of Off-Road Racing. But if this game turns out to be crap, I'm sticking with Motorstorm 2.
WoW!! Do some of you halfwits even know what Baja is? It's another name for cross-country rally which usually takes place in desert regions. Maybe some of you should go get an education to try to learn something.
Thanks THQ, for another s***y port of a c****y game that NOBODY cares about! W00t!
The name "Baja" comes from the Baja 1000 offroad race that takes place on the Baja California Peninsula, its not just some random word..
