That is so awesome that Both Resistance Games will have trophy awards. I cant wait to see what you have to do to get the trophies from these great games. Rock on Insomniac!
Absolutely awesome info there, abit of it we already knew, but nethertheless still going to be an epic, part from the, *Resistance 2 to be as long or longer than Resistance FOM* kinda doesn't clarify anything tbh =|
why is it running at 30fps????? i wanted 60
insomniac shows what the PS3 is capable of. already preorded my copy. can't wait for the 8 player co-op and 60 players online madness. 2 sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I asked him some questions myself but was not graced with anwsers *sob*
i hope is longer than the first, man this game is going to be epic!!!
Its all the importent info that was given i guess for good mesure the fact the game wont have any new tilt features could be added... I must admit that its pretty little to go off...
i can't wait
30 FPS? er, thats gonna suck, as there is less room to drop before you start noticing lag. Full screen effects are gonna be so annoying now. (remember zooming in on an enemy then he ducks behind someone's dragon-flame-trap-thingy, and getting like 10fps?
)
It is very impressive to have no load times!
....720 @ 30 fps? .... wth.... it better have motion blur, then...
for everything else: W00T!
what is trophy?
Don't see any problem with 30fps, particularly if it's locked at that - it'll be nice and smooth no matter what. Better to be locked at 30 than have higher but variable rates.
Starting to not give a ** about home now, though im happy that we've got no loading and more guns :D and ofc on top of it the best online on console so far?
Why is everybody moaning about 30fps. The first resistance was 30fps and the game run smooth and I never experienced any lagging even on 40 players breach games. Resistance 2 is going to be a fantasitc game if its anything like the 1st
As long as they can keep 30fps constantly I'll be happy.
this is one of my most anticipated games im so hyped for it.
Give me 30fps locked anyday over an unstable 60. I know Ken was blowing smoke with the whole 120fps, 4D, etc. but come on, with what insomniac is packing in this game, it's a relief that it runs at all. Just my 2...
I just hope resistance2 doesn't get pushed back like all other ps3 titles, but seeing that it's an insomniac game things are looking good for getting back into Hales boots to kick some alien @§§ this november!
i wish ted price would teach other dev teams how to make game for the ps3.
30 fps @ 720p seems to be a good compromise. It allows for better textures and effects and can look very convincing and sharp. Resistance one did not disappoint in frame rate or resolution. I don't see many games running higher or faster than that without huge sacrifices being made. We'll have to see how it looks before criticizing.
sounds insane.
i hoped it be 60 fps, but well, resitance 1 30 fps didnt bother so this one probably wont bother either :P
720p @ 30fps is better than MGS 4 (665p @ 30fps) & that's a brilliant game, so stop whining.
No load times?!?!!?? AWESOME!
@Lord_Von_PS3
what u talkin bout willis. i though it would be runnin at 1080 p????
Good grief folks. The Unreal Engine games run at 30fps as well and (when done right) look and play just fine. Insomniac is an awesome developer. Recently on a podcast, an ex-journalist and not Insomniac employee commented that what he's seen so far looks BETTER than the teaser trailer. I'm telling you, that trailer was NOT CG. Expect to be blown away by this one. And yes, it will be easier for them to go NUTS on the graphics, lighting, etc, if they stick to 30fps. If it's locked at 30FPS which it likely will be (this IS Insomniac we're talking about), the game will run wonderfully and you'll be too busy keeping your jaw off the floor to complain about not having 60fps. Just give the game a chance. At LEAST wait until gameplay trailers are showing!
A little dissapointed that its not supporting 1080p[like Sony had promised before the release of PlayStation 3 was released that all exclusives would support it]but hopefully the graphics and detail are still stunning.
Its great that it'll support the Trophy system though. About that teaser and the in-game footage being on that level if not better, do people believe that I mean yes I do but people I talk to about don't seem to believe that it is true...
How am I not surprised this isn't running in 1080p or 60fps. It's just funny because these are all things Sony talked about, and it's just another bullet that Sony has to bite. I laugh about it now just because Insomniac is the best developer the PS3 has, and they can't get it to run at more than 30fps on "the worlds most powerfull console", and 30fps probably means it's the peak, but it will dip into the low-mid 20's during instense action. I'm not really worried as long as the game is good, but I'm not setting my expectations too high just because it looks pretty. We all know that usually leads to dissapointment, and Sony is the king of dissapointment this generation.
Ratchet&Clank was locked at 30fps with no frame drop what so ever even when it huge firefights with the enemies, and yes I do know what you about Sony when they once promised that about 1080p which is quite dissapointing I have to agree.
But as long as Resistance 2 runs smoothly even at 30fps, then I couldn't care less.
whats up with all the "OMG 720p @ 30fps, wheres 1080p @ 60fps", for godsake the ps3 is still very early in its life cycle, give the developers some time to work out the ps3's architecture, seeing as most of them are having some serious issues( ahem EA)! 2 - 3 years we will see 1080p @ 60fps MARK MY WORDS 5/6/08 !!!!!!
Big up the INSOMNIAC crew, as has already been said they could teach quite a few other parties how to make a PS3 game, this is on my pre order list.
psn id: gingo.... the first resistance ran at 30fps throughout the full game and never did i see it drop once throughout the epic campaign so i dont think this should be too much of a worry
@Stevienhibs88
Yeah, I hope that ends up being the case eventually. In reality though, I think by mid-2010 MS will launch the next xbox(1080 or whatever it will be called) and I think that will throw off Sony's ten year plan because they can't even compete with MS now, let alone when MS introduces a new more powerfull architecture. My source is saying the next xbox will be using intel technology, which also means happy developers, and games that aren't crappy ports or cancelled. I just feel that by the time developers get a better grasp on programming for the Sony's architecture, it will be too little too late.
They'll probably keep PlayStation 3 going, then about a year later bring out the next one but still keep the PlayStation 3 going...
oh man why do i have to wait i want to play now now NOW!!!!!!
