Tomorrow's upcoming US PSN content

Posted on July 23rd, 2008 at 20:24 EDT

Several pieces of content have been confirmed for tomorrow's PlayStation Store update in the United States.

The first is 1942: Joint Strike. In this vertical scrolling shooter from Backbone Entertainment, you'll twist and weave your way through the opposition in your stylish old school airplane. The game, which features online cooperative play, will run your wallet a respectable $9.99. While the game is scheduled to launch in the US tomorrow, Europeans will have to wait "a couple of weeks" before they get a chance to get their mitts on this downloadable game.

The other piece of confirmed content is a demo of the charming PixelJunk Eden. With the full game -- which supports Trophies -- set to launch a week later, this is the first title in the PixelJunk canon that will have a demo prior to its release. We wish Q-Games the best of luck with their new strategy.

So, that's all that's confirmed thus far (that we haven't already reported, see the Guitar Hero III songs coming tomorrow here). Check back tomorrow for the update's details in full.

Next: Penny Arcade game heading to the PlayStation Network

Just adding to your list PSU, I read somewhere that Shinedown is going to release 2 songs for Rock Band from their new CD. One will be the awesome Devour and the other will be a never released one Junkies For Fame. Also Nine Inch Nails will come out will three songs: Burn, Capital G, and Last. BTW if you never heard of Shinedown, they are a great band. One of my favorites and Devour is an amazing song. I hope this helps :)

PS: i would recomend Shinedown to anyone who likes a good rock band with an amazing singer. All 3 of their CDs are great!

I love the Pixel Junk series. Racers was fun but not for a buy, Monsters was fun but damn hard to play alone, and im looking forward to that demo tomorrow especially cause I love getting trophies.

Jarhead876 comment 7, if my PS3 was broken the last thing I would be doing would be checking the PSU updates, go back to sleep mate.

Besides this the only reason we are getting a demo prior to relesase is because its the only serious contender for your hard earned cash that we have seen from pixel junk.  I admire what they are doing but I hardley believe this is anything anyone will get excited about.

I am hard core PS3 all the way but I'm starting to loose my patience even though I know everything will be all good in the long run.  I made my purchase 24.03.07 the day after release with a bunch of medioce games, I would be embarresed to say how much it cost me though it was around the £500 mark and my claim to fame is that I got a copy of the new james bond blu-ray for free for being one of the first ppl to sign on to the playstation network.

I really feel like having a massive rant here but I will spare you for now but seriously I'm gonna start leaving my comment because I've had enough!..

I just wrote a massive second really witty post and it didnt go though, this is a fault PSU get it sorted, I tried to go back a page so I could copy and paste it but the page wouldnt refresh.

Scrawl says that the next issue of Qore will have an R2 beta invite which is set to launch some time in September. Not sure if Qore is being released tomorrow but at any rate I'll be getting it when it comes out. $3.99 for all the content you get on top of the beta invite is worth it.

I'll probably pick up 1942, I loved the NES games back in the day. Plus, I'm pretty sure Siren is coming tomorrow, so I'll be picking that one up as well. (and by "pick up" I mean download.. I hate this new-fangled internet hacker crap!)

@17 And so did Racers, but this is (apparently) the first time they have a demo PRIOR to the games release.

Pixeljunk Eden demo sounds good because I'm unsure about the game, I bought fl0w and thought it was rubbish so casual games aren't really for me.

If you don't have 1942 on your ps3 your crazy. All time classic that I said is a must have and here it is. I thought it might never come to psn and here it is. Thanks sony. How about gta1 that came out on the ps1.

Pixel Junk Eden is not the first to have a demo. Pixel Junk Monsters had one too... one that actually sold me on purchasing the full game. And for those that have not bought Pixel Junk Monsters yet, it is actually the best game on PSN (with the exception of Warhawk & GT5: P).
