You play Skarin in the Battle of Asgard, a Viking warrior who is chosen by the Norse gods to stop an evil Goddess named Hel. She brings with her an army of undead soldiers to fight Ragnarok, and it's your mission to save the domain of the Vikings. For if you don't, such a battle can have tremendous consequences. It can not only destroy the Viking kingdom, but the God's themselves.
In Norse mythology, Asgard is the capital city of the "Æsir". it was believed that the Æsir were the gods. Furthermore, Ragnarök, meaning "the fate of the gods", was supposedly believed to be the battle at the end of the world. It will be waged between the Æsir, led by Odin, and the various forces of the Jötnar, including Loki.
Myths of Asgard were documented by Snorri Sturluson, a popular Icelandic historian and mythographer. In olden times these myth's have been celebrated in song, story and painting. But in our times, they are, evidently, celebrated through video games.
"Skarin is a cutting-edge hero in a fantastic re-imagining of Norse mythology. Skarin is obviously a very dangerous man," stated Gary Knight, European marketing director for SEGA Europe.

What type of game is it?
I love the Norse mythology and, so far, the only games to use it have been Japanese RPG's (Odin Sphere, Valkyrie Profile, Valhalla Knights) and crappy 3rd person games (Rune: Viking Warlords). Since the mythology is so rich, I really hope they can pull this off

For christ sake! Why dont they just make a HISTORICALLY ACCURATE game for once. I'm sick of these stupid fantasy geeks taking on cultures they know absolutely nothing about and making stupid games from them. Why not play a Viking that has a meaning.. and a realistic game - no horns, no rising dead, no magic, no goddesses and stupid storylines... arrgh!
